    Your Impact as an Inventory Specialist  

    This is the primary role in the production facility. The Production Specialist will eventually perform all aspects and duties in the facility. Initially you will work under close supervision as you learn the work types, and special requirements our client’s demand. The Production Specialist receives materials, put away in warehouse, setup projects, operate production printers, operate intelligent inserters, and mail personalized materials on behalf of our customers.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Responsible for setup, maintenance, and operation in one or more production areas in the facility. The PS1 will perform activities that require considerable judgment and initiative using established procedures and best practices. The role will include aspects and duties that encompass all production areas in the facility (Production Staging, Production Printing, Automated Assembly, Receiving, and Warehousing).

    • Assist management and fellow colleagues in pulling inventory, job setup, and production planning to fulfill the client deliverables. Escalation of all production risks when identified.

    • Consistently meet and exceed expectations and be the owner of all the work completed.

    • Recognize, and resolve any discrepancies with the work or processes when encountered through thoughtful resolution, or escalation to senior experienced colleagues or management.

    • Alight is a time-based business. Our requests for work and deliverables have a critical impact on our customers. There is a critical requirement to be excellent at time management that includes arrival time, departure time in addition to how your time is utilized throughout the production day.

    Production Staging

    • Production Staging is the preparation of printed output and inserts, gathering all components of the bill of materials for final assembly or as finished goods ready for shipping.

    • Validation of materials, instructions, and delivery to assigned production areas.

    Production Printing

    • Operating high-speed print devices – setup, operate, finish, reconciliation, and light maintenance

      • Continuous Feed Ink-Jet Printers

      • Cut Sheet Printers

      • Finishing Equipment

        • Cutters

        • Folders

        • Stitchers

      • Troubleshoot equipment

    Automated & Manual Assembly

    • Operating High Speed Inserting Equipment – setup, configuring, feeding, catching, finishing, reconciling of personalized document insertion.

    • Manual Assembly – hand folding, collation, insertion, and reconciling of personalized documents

    • Troubleshoot equipment

    • Operating stand-alone postage meters

    Receiving/Warehousing

    • Shipping/Receiving

    • Material evaluation/validation

    • Put away/Order Pulling

    • Cycle Counting

    • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in one or more production area with the goal of becoming proficient in 6-12 months

    • Learn to setup, operate, and troubleshoot all equipment in all production areas and accompanying procedures.

    • Follow verbal and written guidance, including instructions from work orders using independent judgement based on established procedures.

    • Ability to communicate effectively in a professional environment.

    • Work with accuracy, neatness and speed.

    • Maintain a clean, and organized work environment.

    • Follow maintenance requirements for all equipment in production areas.

    • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

    • Prioritize and focus on critical work first, not what is the easiest.

    • Willing and able to work on power equipment such as forklifts, cherry pickers, hand trucks, etc.

    • Ability to lift 50 lbs unassisted

    Pay Transparency Statement: Alight takes into consideration a candidate’s experience, education, certification/credentials, market data, internal equity, and geography when determining an offer for a successful employment candidate, and Alight does so on an individualized, non-discriminatory basis.
