API Development Delivery Manager

The Wealth API Team Lead has the responsibility for the delivery of specific functionality across our Wealth Cloud platform.   The API Team Lead oversees all aspects of API delivery with internal and external resources to ensure quality delivery of the product offering. The API Team Lead is accountable for building a sustainable delivery model in the team.

The API Team Lead creates a team environment that encourages the team to work together using agile management processes to deliver API needs for all of the Wealth Cloud needs. The API Team Lead plans and manages the work, empowers the team, monitors and summarizes progress, and serves as an escalation point for risks.

The API Team Lead has technical knowledge of API delivery and constructs and uses that to effectively manage a team of API developers and testers. 

What You’ll Do:

  • Have experience with API delivery and creation and is able to guide a team to create well designed and well performing APIs for various needs.  Is able to code APIs when needed and is able to guide and train newer API developers.
  • Serve as a single point of contact for Wealth APIs and takes the ownership from current state through final implementation for all API deliveries.  Manages all aspects of an Agile Software development life cycle, program increment planning and sprint planning.  
  • Build relationships, assess team performance and engagement.
  • Responsible for team goals and ways to motivate the team to do great work and drives overall team performance. Works with the team on work assignments based on the best approach to get the work done. Ensures team members have skills and knowledge required for the program.
  • Sets quality expectations and can guide API testers in effective API testing techniques.
  • Drive change and create at deliver programs with fixed capacity and high quality. While championing an agile environment
  • Develop strong working relationships with business leaders and external vendors.
  • Understands the “big picture" and can relate to the entire business problem along with the technical ramifications.

What You’ll Need:

  • Experience managing multiple agile teams related to API, And java development
  • Demonstrated experience delivering measurable business benefit through project execution and delivery
  • Demonstrated proficiency in facilitating, delegating and motivating cross functional groups or activities
  • Highly organized, attention to detail, and able to multi-task competing priorities
  • Provide leadership, guidance, influence and mentoring for development teams
  • Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • 7+ years team management experience
  • 3+ years of API development experience, especially REST API techniques
  • 10+ years of professional work experience
  • Experience with Software Development Lifecycle methodologies, preferably with agile methodologies (SCRUM).
  • Experience working directly with stakeholders in the management and delivery of projects
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to new environments and lead and drive change
