Position summary

We are looking for an experienced Modeling Team Lead to build, manage, and inspire a team of modelers who embed in cross-functional teams across Alight to transform our business through AI.

This is an opportunity to harness our enormous data-scale and advanced AI technologies in the service of helping our client’s employees attain wellbeing, financial security, and affordable high-quality healthcare.

Your team will design, build, deploy, and maintain AI-based solutions that deliver improved employee experiences, help our clients manage those experiences and drive their HR outcomes, and maintain Alight’s competitive pricing via low cost-to-serve.

US Citizenship is required - as this role supports services provided to the federal government and/or a federal government contractor, proof will be required to verify US citizenship status at time of hire.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Demonstrated technical excellence across diverse set of AI modeling disciplines (https://e.g., standard classifiers, active learning, bandit frameworks, reinforcement learning, causal inference, transformers/ LLMs)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead design and implementation of systems-level topics (incl. experiment design/ management, uncertainty estimation, modeling toolchain/ data pipelines/ deployment/ monitoring)
  • Demonstrated track record of domain expertise including the ability to improve company level capabilities within domain, consult on business priorities and optimize value by identifying business aligned solutions and thoughtfully and practically introduce concepts and technologies from the industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to keep modeling teams up to date on latest technical developments (from academia, conferences, etc) and infuse relevant AI developments into Alight’s products
  • Demonstrated ability to build, manage, and inspire a motivated and technically excellent team of AI modelers
  • Advanced degree in technical field preferred (https://e.g., Master’s Degree or PhD in Statistics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Statistics, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Applied Sciences, Bioinformatics, Econometrics, or related field)

Would Be Nice to Have:

  • Experience in healthcare- and retirement-related data a plus
  • Experience working on personalization systems (https://e.g., in ad-tech or e-commerce settings) and/ or chatbot/ natural language processing systems a plus
