Key Responsibilities

• File documentation is clear and within Best Practice adopted by organization

• Works with team to review policies, and procedures

• Answers difficult inquiries regarding interpretation of policy, procedures, rules and regulations

• Effectively communicates additional information needs, analysis process within eligibility guidelines, and decisions

• Work is within set parameters of quality and production standards, as applicable, and within agreed upon Service Level Agreements and regulations

• Assesses accuracy of data, considers alternative options, and prepares recommendations on referral files outside of authority

• Reviews, underwrites, and prepares new business, endorsements, and renewals within guidelines for position

Experience

• Post-secondary education and completion of CIP designation is preferred

• 3-5 years of Underwriting experience is preferred

• Experience in the non-standard auto market as well as experience in a broker office would be an asset

• Familiarity with Pembridge products and services would be considered an asset

• Knowledge of the regional insurance market and the broker within the market is considered an asset

• Strong negotiation skills, customer service skills and the ability and willingness to learn

• Ability to collaborate with peers and subordinates to reach goals as well as the ability to work well independently
