Alteryx is searching for a Sr. Procurement Specialist in the Irvine, California, but is also hybrid/remote friendly.

Overview:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and capable procurement marketing specialist to drive procurement operational excellence and participate in procure to pay and sourcing related activities.  If you are a proactive individual with a technical mindset, understands the significance of centralized procurement and you want to put your process improvement, project management and influencing skills to work in a rapidly growing global company, this role may be for you!

The specific duties of the role will include managing the end to end procure to pay process, perform to the rhythm of the business, educating internal requestors on procurement policy and process, and reviewing and archiving supplier contracts.  This individual is expected to develop collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers in order to optimize total value.

Responsibilities:

  • Proficient with defining, influencing and driving approval of the procurement marketing category strategies to achieve business goals and objectives
  • Manage the end to end procure to pay cycle, including educating requestors on the proper purchase request (PR) process, reviewing, and approving PRs, partnering with finance to ensure the proper process is followed.
  • Experiences in negotiations and management of Marketing contracts and services, that includes solid experience in digital, brand, search engine, social media and content marketing, direct hands-on experience of sourcing, contracting Sale and Marketing Events, Sales support and/or Professional Service type suppliers. 
  • Vendor Management that will include the new supplier onboarding process, respond to new supplier set up related inquiries timely, and holding vendors accountable for end-to-end deliverables and services.
  • Drive procurement operational excellence by training requestors on related policy and process, improving compliance, and supporting audit requirements
  • Document procurement internal standard operational procedures
  • Managing, coordinating, and supporting RFx and contract renewal activity.
  • Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts with third parties.
  • Work routinely with risk partners (Legal, Compliance, Ops, Info Sec, Privacy, etc.) in negotiating deals and in managing risk
  • Experience working with key business groups to ensure each contract aligns to the required goods and/or services required, meeting the business needs. 
  • Experience managing the full lifecycle of Procure to Pay, including contract management and using a contract management platform
  • Participate in supplier contract evaluations, negotiations and project alignment with key suppliers and with a variety of business partners
  • Participate in sourcing projects to identify supplier options, conduct supplier/vendor evaluations, implement solutions and consolidation of key suppliers.
  • Develop and maintain preferred and approved supplier list, use spend analytics to influence business decisions
  • Consistently provides a high level of service by establishing and clearly communicating mutual expectations, developing an understanding of business needs and demonstrating competency and consistency in meeting commitments
  • Facilitate resolution of supplier performance issues
  • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • A four-year college degree in a business or technical discipline preferred.
  • A minimum of 4 to 6 years' experience in procurement, finance, or business operations.
  • Knowledge of procurement and sourcing processes is required. Working knowledge of procurement systems (ERP, NetSuite) is preferred.
  • Ability to manage and understands the end-to-end third-party program and enforces Business compliance to that program
  • Experience working in a shared service environment is preferred.
  • Ability to effectively interact with associates representing various functions and levels within the organization.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills as demonstrated through team interactions, meeting discussion / presentations, and project deliverables.
  • Strong analytical skill. Experience with reconciling data from disparate and incomplete sources to develop well-documented and supportable recommendations.
  • Demonstrated project management expertise.
  • Proficiency with MS-Office software, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to travel 10% domestic or potentially internationally.  On an ad hoc basis, may need to cover early morning, or late evening hours for EMEA and APAC procurement projects.
