Senior Manager, Business Systems for Products, Parties and Account Masters – Asset Management

Job Description

Columbia Threadneedle Investments is a leading and evolving global asset management company. The Trading Business Support Team is responsible for business and technical support for the global trading platform that supports Columbia Threadneedle Investments’ entire product offering with trading across all asset classes including equity, fixed income, derivatives and FX instruments. Within the Trading Business Support Team the Senior Manager - Business Analyst position will take a lead role in all activities required to support the global trading platform, as well as a prominent role in collaborating with business partners and senior management on strategic business initiatives and projects. This position requires a dynamic person who enjoys a fast-paced environment and the opportunity to quickly build expertise across multiple disciplines within the asset management business.

Responsibilities

• Gather business information and incorporate into project plans with minimal oversight by the leader or project manager. Provide timely and accurate documents and communication to the project team. Build relationships with leaders to understand business objectives, priorities and to develop supporting process improvement initiatives, and implement a well-functioning operating model to ensure high-quality data.

• Work on highly complex projects to identify business requirements, creating project and process specifications for new and/or enhanced systems. May write code for business-specific platforms or provide other technical support to the business. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the business and technology partners.

• Ability to provide accurate, timely & responsive services and communication to the business on highly complex problems. Solve a variety of complex system and system-related problems for the business as it relates to business requirements and technology, in addition to helping design or implement systems.

• Maintain knowledge of new developments in business process improvement methodology and data analysis, including learning from other market leaders and industries.

• May provide effective people leadership through effective coaching, feedback, and sound performance management practices. Act as champion for the team and intervene on matters that create roadblocks to individual or organizational success.

Required Qualifications

• 4 year degree or equivalent

• 7+ years of relevant experience (financial industry or master data management experience)

• Extensive quantitative and analytical skills with experience in process improvement.

• Demonstrated ability in integrating business knowledge with analytical insight.

• Ability to influence, motivate and negotiate.

• Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities with ability to analyze data and recommend solutions.

• Must have excellent program management experience/skill.

• Agile / scrum experience

• Knowledge of products, parties, or accounts within any industry
