Job Description
Columbia Threadneedle is growing their Private Client Advisory Channel and hiring a Senior Regional Investment Consultants in the Pacific Northwest. This territory is responsible for Northern California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Utah. In this role you will promote Columbia Threadneedle strategies and investment vehicles through the Private Client Advisor Channel to RIA firms and Private Bank Trust companies and their clients as well as select retail organizations. You will also articulate complex investment strategies and deliver usable sales approaches to advisors for use with their High Net Worth investor clients, deliver and train advisors on value-added content as well as provide thought leadership and Columbia’s perspective as a compliment to target firm’s outlook.
California Residents Only: The estimated base salary for this role is $100,000 - $125,000 / year. Base salaries are determined in part based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role. Responsibilities
Provide representation of all products distributed and marketed by Columbia Threadneedle in the Pacific Northwest territory of our Private Client Advisory channel. Territory includes WA, OR, Northern CA, UT, ID, AK.
Drive sales by developing, maintaining, and deepening relationships with new and existing advisors; influence advisor choices using a consultative sales process and other performance improvement systems. Partner with internal wholesaler to develop a business plan, manage the territory, and drive regional sales goals and objectives.
Identify client needs and provides investment and business solutions to the financial advisor. Build and maintain relationships with internal and external business partners (marketing, senior leaders, field leaders).
Conduct sales or product training meetings and public seminars for financial advisors. Make joint sales presentations to existing and prospective clients.
Consult in the areas of portfolio building and practice management.
Keep abreast of industry/market trends and developments and maintains sound working knowledge of Columbia's products and services. Research and communicate industry changes and trends that may impact company or product positioning, both with internal and external customers.
Report sales and activities to management on a weekly basis.
This position may be located anywhere within the Pacific Northwest.
Required Qualifications
6+ years relevant experience
Bachelors degree or equivalent
Experience calling on and working with the RIA community
Deep investment knowledge including expertise in utilizing MPT and post-modern portfolio theories to position investment solutions
Experience selling and marketing mutual funds, separately managed accounts, and ETFs
Ability to deliver value-added content as a way to influence sales and develop/strengthen partnerships.
Experience working within a Fiduciary sales construct - RIAs, Private Banks, Institutional firms, &/or firms focused on high net worth clients
Series 7 (or SIE and Series 7 top off exam) and 66 (or 63 & 65 combined) or the ability to obtain within a defined period of time
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated sales track record and successful territory management
Consultative selling skills and communication skills
CIMA, CAIA, CFA, CFP
