Let's do this! Let's change the world! We are seeking highly motivated individuals to join our team as Apprentice Manufacturing Associates at our Holly Springs, NC facility. The successful candidates will complete a course curriculum at Wake Tech Community College - South (WTCC) and then receive on-the-job (OJT) training at Amgen. This combination of course curriculum and OJT is known as the Apprenticeship. The Apprentice Manufacturing Associate role is a full-time paid position which includes compensation for time in classes. The Apprentice Manufacturing Associate will play a critical role in ensuring quality and compliance standards are met through various manufacturing tasks and activities.
Upon the successful completion of the apprenticeship, the staff member will be eligible for a Manufacturing Associate role within one of the three manufacturing disciplines (Upstream, Downstream, and Manufacturing Services).
To be able to participate in the Apprenticeship, candidates must be eligible to enroll at WTCC and be available to work all shift types, including non-standard shifts (i.e., 12-hour days including every other weekend) upon completion of the WTCC course curriculum.

The Apprenticeship Will Be Focused On:
Embarking on a journey of discovery as you meet milestone training checkpoints and follow all standardized operating procedures
Immersing yourself in the biotechnology industry and learning how our products are made
Following Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) and applicable regulations from the Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs)
Reporting any discrepancies to ensure quality standards and safety
Ensuring quality & compliance through a Right First-Time mindset
Completing operations on the floor in either upstream, downstream, or manufacturing services; responsible for the manufacturing of cGMP drug substance
Perform hands-on operations including set-up, cleaning, sanitization, monitoring of equipment, and execution of production processes in assigned area
Perform in-process sampling, operate analytical equipment, and complete process documentation (Electronic Batch Records (EBRs))
Collaborate as part of a cross-functional team (i.e., QA/QC, F&E (Facilities & Engineering), Supply Chain, Mfg., PD (Process Development), Regulatory, etc.) in completing production activities
Partnering with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement opportunities

Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
And
Receipt of Statewide / Regional Biotechnology certificate by no later than December 2024, such as the NC BioWork Certification

This position will be paid on an hourly basis. The hourly base pay for this opportunity in the U.S. is $34.62 an hour.
