    What you will do

We are seeking a seasoned Director, Program Manager to lead the successful execution of the Amgen India Technology Transition Program, a multi-year strategic initiative focused on building out global technology services in India, optimizing onboarding of Amgen resources, enabling scalable growth, and enhancing enterprise efficiency.

    This position is located in Hyderabad, India, in a newly established Amgen office - Amgen India. The Director will report to the global Technology Enterprise Programs lead and serve as a deputy to the overall Amgen India Technology Transition Program leadership. The role includes matrixed responsibilities but carries ultimate accountability for driving onsite delivery in India, ensuring local execution is aligned with global program objectives.

    Responsible for:

    • Serve as the representative program manager for Amgen India Technology Transition, overseeing deliverables across multiple technology domains

    • Act as a deputy to global Program leadership and collaborate closely with the Enterprise Technology teams to ensure cohesion and continuity across workstreams

    • Own onsite execution and drive outcomes in India to meet strategic goals defined by the central global program

    • Ensure on-time delivery of milestones, proactively managing risks, issues, and dependencies across global and local workstreams

    • Drive project governance and maintain rigorous program discipline using structured methodologies

    • Lead the maintenance of consolidated dashboards that track key transformation KPIs, timelines, and resource utilization

    • Provide accurate, real-time reporting to executive leadership and transformation steering committees, synthesizing data into actionable insights

    • Manage program budgets across multiple cost centers and funding sources, including capital and operational expenditures

    • Partner with Finance and Procurement to ensure accurate forecasting, tracking, and compliance with global financial policies

    • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration, aligning business priorities with transformation outcomes

    • Present program updates to senior executives and global steering groups, ensuring alignment and visibility

    • Lead and mentor a high-performing team of program and project managers

    • Oversee third-party vendors and consultants to ensure delivery commitments are met in scope, quality, and time

    • Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement

    • Collaborate effectively across diverse cultural environments and manage operations across multiple global time zones

    Basic Qualifications:

    Master's degree and 18 - 24 years of Scientific and/or Operations and/or Business experience

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • 15+ years' experience in a cross-functional, multi-site program management role

    • Demonstrated experience working in large, multi-national, corporate environments with multi-site operations

    • Proven success leading global service transitions to India or similar delivery models

    • Strong ability to work across cultures, build inclusive relationships, and operate across multiple time zones

    • Experience working closely with global teams in a deputy or second-in-command role to executive leadership

    • Experience with matrixed reporting structures and navigating organizational complexity

    • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including ability to storyline and prepare executive-level discussion documents

    • Strong technical skills using digital tools

    • Excellent conceptual problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to bring structure to vaguely defined problems, pragmatically scope problem solving approach, and manage execution

    • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytic skills

    • Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to influence different styles

    • Drug Development knowledge with basic to strong understanding of activities within Research, Preclinical and Clinical Development, Medical and Regulatory

    Independent, motivated, team member with experience in a matrix environment
