Every day more than 1000 people from 38 different nationalities are working on supply chain processes, manufacturing, marketing, and sales of our medicines and clinical research into new medicines.

    Amgen is an international biotechnology company that actively strives to optimize care for patients.

    Amgen BV is the Dutch organization marketing the products to physicians and pharmacists (HCPs). To support and help patients and HCP’s, we developed homecare programs to achieve the best possible therapy outcomes for the patient. We also support hospitals in developing care paths and care solutions with local district nurses or national vendors to improve therapy outcomes such as therapy persistence.

    The outplacement/movement of care from the hospital to the patient’s home is currently accelerating because there is increasing pressure on our healthcare system. As a result, hospitals are developing all kinds of initiatives to support patients in a future-proof way @ home.

    Amgen would like to explore what role it can play in this dynamic field and how Amgen can respond to these developments in the hospitals to offer solutions that optimally meet the needs of the market.

    Will you be the student who will deliver breakthrough results for Amgen?

    This assignment will focus on the following topics:

    Goal

    • Insights into the developments of transition of care to the home situation in 10-15 hospitals with a specific interest in the outplacement of oncology care to home
    • Insights into specific needs of health care professionals, hospital boards, and policymakers  for support that Amgen can offer to those hospitals
    • Create a possibility for Amgen to follow up with these stakeholders

    Method

    • Market analysis of Select hospitals
    • Select DMU/project managers within the hospital for support @ home
    • Interview DMU/project managers in hospitals
    • Analyze and report findings
    • Advise Amgen about an important added value to hospitals

    Deliverables

    • Report of insights and needs of hospitals
    • Presentation of insights and needs to Amgen and hospitals involved

    To be successful as an intern you need the following:

    • Be a pre-final or a final year student, from both bachelor’s and master’s studies in Biomedical Sciences, Pharmacy, Health Economics/ Policy.
    • Have proficiency in English (both verbal and written) & and preferably in Dutch.
    • Proactive and eager to learn.
    • Excellent communication and analysis skills.
    • Perseverant and resilient.
    • Be bold about your goals.
