    Position summary

    o delivering cutting-edge capabilities to the US V&A organization. We are seeking a business leader that understands technology and can manage multiple workstreams concurrently across multiple business units.

    This position is primarily responsible for understanding business needs and converting those needs into requirements. Additionally, we are seeking a business technology leader that can find opportunities to optimize difficulties within business processes that support the end-to-end contracting lifecycle.

    As a business technology leader, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our technological future, improving user experiences, and ensuring efficient business operations. This multifaceted position requires strong leadership, strategic vision, and a deep understanding of technology’s role in achieving business goals.

    Position operates within a complex environment, and the ideal candidate will possess the ability to take initiative, problem-solve, work independently and exercise appropriate business judgment. Essential activities include, evolving the Contracting Ecosystem into a high-quality data repository, detecting business workflow automation candidates, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. Interaction and strong communication with cross-functional teams is crucial.

    Business Requirements Gathering

    • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their contracting needs and requirements
    • Translate business objectives into clear and actionable requirements
    • Partner with IT to thoroughly explain business needs and enable the IT product team to develop detailed technical requirements & design options
    • Oversee change management for integration of new systems and technologies into existing business processes and infrastructure
    • Ensure data and process compatibility while minimizing disruption to day-to day business operations

    Business Capabilities Roadmap

    • Develop and execute a comprehensive business capability roadmap aligned with the company’s strategic objectives
    • Identify new technologies and trends to maintain a competitive edge
    • Manage prioritization of business capabilities within the product backlog

    User Experience Strategy

    • Define a user-centric approach that empowers US V&A staff to improve productivity within Amgen’s Contract Management Ecosystem
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create seamless, intuitive, and customer focused experiences

    Process Improvement

    • Identify areas for process optimization and efficiency gains
    • Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce operational costs

    Basic Qualifications:

    Doctorate degree

    OR

    Master’s degree and 2 years of healthcare/life sciences or corporate business consulting experience

    OR

    Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of healthcare/life sciences or corporate business consulting experience

    OR

    Associate’s degree and 10 years of healthcare/life sciences or corporate business consulting experience

    OR

    High school diploma / GED and 12 years of healthcare/life sciences or corporate business consulting experience

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, specifically US pricing & contracts
    • Excellent project and portfolio management skills
    • Proficiency in business process analysis and optimization
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
    • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive change within the organization
    • Strong understanding of user experience principles
    • Experience working with integrated technologies across multiple teams
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Self-motivates and leads a project from inception to completion
    • Executive navigation and presentation skills is a plus
