    Manager Information Systems

    What you will do

In this vital role you will help research, evaluate, plan, design and deploy technology-related initiatives in close collaboration with multi-functional business units (HR Operations, HR COE, HR Business Partners and Information Systems (IS)) and vendors. Main focus areas will be coordinating the HR Technology Release Management and Workday Release Management. Strong configuration knowledge and previous experience is a must. Coordinate all HR Technology Release planning, analysis and deployment, Review new and enhanced HR Technology, particularly Workday functionality, Partner with HR Technology provider to accommodate landscape requirements, Coordinate the implementation of related configuration & integration changes, Determine supporting testing strategy and coordinate regression testing, Partner with multi-functional business units, vendors and the IT group in the planning, analyzing, development, testing, and roll-out of enhancements (i.e. new functionality, reports, integrations, etc.) from identification of the business need through supporting the testing process to user acceptance and deployment. Oversee, define and monitor critical path release activities and resolve or call out issues, as needed. Understand and apply Amgen's Information Security and Privacy policies, standards and processes to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of our HR data. Work with HR, IS, Partner with Vendor to coordinate the resolution of release support issues in a timely and efficient manner. Participate in various process improvement projects, provide recommendations and assist in the process and system changes implementations. Partner with the Change Management Team, as needed, to review release related organizational readiness needs (i.e. training and communication)

    Additional responsibilities include:

    • Manage a team of Workday professionals responsible for configuration

    • Manage the Workday tenants refresh and maintenance activities

    • Managing the quarterly SOX process ensuring alignment to Amgen guidelines

    • Oversee large Workday related projects ensuring tasks remain on track and successful throughput delivery to production

    • Research and discovery of new Workday features and functionality

    • ISM Business Owner for IS Change control requiring analysis of all IS changes that impact Workday

    • Partner with IS Integrations team to ensure cross workstream changes are properly tested, communicated, and delivered in a timely manner.

    • ISM Change control for weekly configuration change release

    • Strong Workday knowledge and configuration is required

    • Extensive Workday configuration required in Core HCM and Security

    • Previous consulting experience is strongly preferred

    • Performing monthly, quarterly and annual audits to ensure system accuracy

    • Workday reporting and advanced reporting is required including creating complex calculated fields

    • Workday Worksheets experience is desired

    • Must be able to multitask and pivot quickly to meet incoming business needs

    • MyAccess Workday security role review and approval for technical Workday roles

    • Workday named support contact for system issues, case management and implementer accounts

    • India 2nd Shift coverage is required to support global projects. This will be required 2-3 days per week.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Doctorate degree OR

    • Master's degree and 4 to 6 years of Human Resources, Information Systems experience OR

    • Bachelor's degree and 6 to 8 years of Human Resources, Information Systems experience OR

    • Diploma and 10 to 12 years of Human Resources, Information Systems experience

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • B.S. degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, or related area MBA /MS

    • Global Workday experience

    • Mixture of practitioner and consulting experience

    • Serve as a HR Technology Thought-Leader and advisor when defining HR Technology Solutions

    • Remove resistance to change i.e. adoption of the new HR Technology

    • Trained to wear HR and IT lenses, as well as, focus on the overall user experience i.e. from people, process and technology perspective

    • Deep and broad knowledge of HR technology solutions i.e. detailed understanding of business processes, workflow, and systems implementation

    • Able to conceptualize impact of changes to system

    • Experience supporting HR, Benefits and Payroll Integrations for a large global company

    • Strong Analytics competence and great eye for details, as well as, strong problem solving abilities

    • Excellent verbal, written, communication and interpersonal skills

    • Demonstrated skills and successes working closely with both the HR and IS

    • Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment where multi-tasking and prioritizing is necessary
