Amgen Inflammation Research Team is seeking a Senior Associate Scientist to conduct in vitro and preclinical studies to support discovering and validating new targets related to autoimmune diseases. In this vital role, you will explore new area of research, innovate new technologies, act as an integral member of our discovery research team, collaborate with scientists in multi-functional areas at Amgen, and contribute to Amgen’s drug development pipeline and to publications and patents. You will perform in vitro cell-based assays and in vivo studies that provide preclinical evidence for a new and exciting modality targeting inflammatory pathways associated with autoimmunity disorders**.**

    Position Responsibilities

    • Enable the discovery, validation, and mechanistic understanding of signaling pathways to be further translated into a new treatment for autoimmune diseases.
    • Independently design, perform and analyze laboratory experiments, including assay development, optimization, and troubleshooting
    • Collaborate with team members within and outside of the department to design, conduct and analyze mouse model studies
    • Contribute to technology development by proposing and evaluating models and new experimental approaches
    • Present data in department and team meetings
    • Contribute to external presentations, including posters and manuscripts

    Basic Qualifications:

    Master’s degree and 3 years Immunology or Inflammation experience

    Or

    Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of Immunology or Inflammation experience

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Master's degree and 5 years of experience or PhD with a research focus in Inflammation and Immunology
    • Experience with mouse models.
    • Experience with cell culture and cell-based assays.
    • Experience with molecular biology (CRISPR is highly desired)
    • Experience with multi-panel flow cytometry
    • Demonstrated independence in critical thinking and scientific achievement, such as through significant contributions to manuscripts or poster presentations. (First author publication is a differential)
    • Knowledge immunology and signaling pathways
    • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver results to meet timelines

    The annual base salary range for this opportunity in the U.S. is $115-991-132,873.
