    Position summary

    es (TL, LTL, intermodal, ocean, air), warehousing services and clinical logistics services

    • Act as a trust advisor to of key partners/customers

    • Collaborate with logistics and supply chain teams to identify and implement optimal distribution solutions that align with business objectives.

    • Lead, execute and implement the sourcing needs of Amgen's regional distribution activity

    • Collaborate to build a multi-year sourcing strategy for the category that will deliver year over year efficiency and value; Measure and manage supplier performance

    • Execute Global/Regional Sourcing Strategies

    • Data and spend management, including tail spend, in respective categories

    • Execution and end-to-end ownership of the strategic sourcing plan

    • Advise on the Procurement Process and Systems ensuring compliance with all relevant sourcing policies and procedures

    • Provide expertise on contracting, leading contracting activities, managing ongoing contract management needs carriers and distribution suppliers

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key distribution vendors, ensuring they meet Amgen's standards for performance, reliability, and compliance.

    • Resolves and proactively prevents potential problems through root cause analysis

    • Ensure Amgen's procurement policies are followed, ensuring that compliance metrics are met or exceeded, supported through preferred supplier contracts

    Basic Qualifications:

    Doctorate degree
    OR

    Master's degree and 2 years of Strategic Sourcing, Contracting and Negotiations experience
    OR

    Bachelor's degree and 4 years of Strategic Sourcing, Contracting and Negotiations experience
    OR

    Associate's degree and 8 years of Strategic Sourcing, Contracting and Negotiations experience
    OR

    High school diploma / GED and 10 years of Strategic Sourcing, Contracting and Negotiations experience

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Extensive experience in strategic sourcing and procurement within distribution, including managing logistics, transportation, and delivery services. Strong experience in Project Management and independently develops practical solutions (Planning, prioritizing and delivery), with experience in leading project teams across geographic and functional reporting lines

    • Ability to negotiate, manage, and develop relationships with distribution vendors, ensuring alignment with business objectives and compliance standards. Ability to provide thought leadership to customers and actively shape customer's overall strategy while understanding business goals

    • Champion productivity with a track record in developing and implementing sourcing strategies that optimize distribution networks and drive cost savings.

    • Background in optimizing distribution processes and supply chain operations to enhance efficiency and achieve strategic goals.

    • Strong financial and analytical skills

    • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to distribution in the BioTech/Pharmaceutical or related industries.

    • Excellent communication skills (presentation, virtual team development, etc.) resulting in relationship building and development

    • Able to work with minimal direction, ensuring quality of tasks / service provided by self and other

    • Experience using e-procurement tools such as Workday Strategic Sourcing (Scout), and Ariba

    • Applies analytical skills to evaluate and interpret complex situations using different information sources in order to draw and present analytic insights

    • Highly proficient with MS Office Suite, including Excel

    • Fluent business English, written and oral

    The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
