What you will do

This role will lead Amgen’s Value Access & Policy (VA&P) team in Hong Kong, contributing directly to the success of current and future products. The successful candidate will oversee policy-shaping, pre and post launch access, and pricing & reimbursement of our portfolio. This individual should not only possess the technical skills to lead a growing VA&P team, but also the visible leadership capabilities to inspire the organization. This individual will report directly to the General Manager and serve as a core member of the Hong Kong Management Team. Some of the key deliverables will include:

Main Responsibilities

External Engagement and Partnership

• Identify and engage with external stakeholders from healthcare sector (government officials, policy makers, HCPs, NGOs, patient advocacy groups, etc.) to establish collaborations that create a better healthcare environment for patients in Hong Kong
• Monitor healthcare environment especially healthcare related policy trends, challenges, and opportunities at macro perspective that could have potential impact to business, and propose and implement strategies to mitigate risks and capture opportunities
• Coordinate cross-functional alignment on health policy priorities in alignment with brand strategies

Access

• Advise commercial teams on access strategies for formulary enlistments and funding applications with an aim to deliver Amgen’s near-term success
• Prepare ecosystem at pre-launch phase for new products to ensure effective access and reimbursement strategy implementation at launch
• Provide the strategic input on budget forecast and LRS assumptions from access perspective

Pricing

• Work closely with commercial teams to develop and execute pricing strategies across all sectors in alignment with business goals
• Review pricing proposal and support commercial team to develop solid business case with a clear understanding on market situation and brand pricing strategy
• Responsible for local pricing governance for all pricing proposals
• Lead regular training for business case development, pricing governance process and use of pricing tools
• Work closely with Finance, SEA VAP, and JAPAC RVAL to execute on all pricing policies and SOPs

Corporate Affairs

• Develop yearly corporate affairs activities plan to elevate Amgen Hong Kong corporate presence in Hong Kong
• Provide coaching and guidance for VAP Associate Manager to execute patient engagement and corporate affairs activities

What we expect of you

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in science or related field, graduate degree in business or science preferred
• At least 8 years of experience in pharmaceutical industry, preferably in market access, pricing, and government affairs or experience in working with government agency
• Proven track record of success in achieving market access and government relation activities
• Good knowledge of HK healthcare system including reimbursement process, healthcare environment, decision making process related to access, pricing, and reimbursement
• Experience in working cross-functionally across several teams as a strong partner and collaborator
