    Anduril is rapidly developing and building new prototype EO and lidar systems in Boulder, CO. We’re looking for someone to join our team who enjoys: getting their hands dirty in the lab to build, align and test prototype systems; bringing those systems out to field testing for demonstration; and learning quickly to take on new challenges that this small team will solve in a fast paced environment.

    The I&T Engineer will be someone with broad, multidisciplinary experience who is able to learn quickly to solve a wide variety of challenges!

    WHAT YOU'LL DO:

    • Plan, lead, and manage the execution of integration and test of EO and lidar systems from first build through initial deployment in the field
    • Use lasers, amplifiers, instrumentation, diagnostics, and optics in the lab and field test sites
    • Procure, inspect, test, and integrate opto-mechanical components. Tasks include mounting optics, optical alignment, and fiber optic cleaving, polishing, and splicing
    • Test and integrate electrical components including power supplies and mechanism controllers
    • Identify and troubleshot hardware and test anomalies including gathering data around anomalies and presentation of data and suggested course of actions to engineering team
    • Integration planning, system testing, anomaly resolution, and field test planning
    • Manage prototyping lab facility and activities including test hardware, test processes and procedure, laser safety, environmental safety, and lab resources
    • Be responsible for field test planning, safety, logistics, and execution
    • Be the Anduril test coordinator for field testing and the primary point-of-contact for the test facility
    • Willingness to travel in support of field testing 

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • 5+ years of related experience in industry and/or graduate school working with EO imaging systems, lasers, and/or lidar systems
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal oversight in a fast paced, dynamic environment
    • Experience with mechanical and electrical system assembly including harness builds and PCB rework
    • Experience with environmental safety practices, including laser safety
    • Experience participating in system buy-off or deployment including field testing, acceptance testing, and system verification and validation
    • Knowledge of related disciplines such as electrical engineering, optical engineering, mechanical engineering, and thermal management
    • Demonstrated experience working in a laboratory environment with lasers.
    • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems that requires the use of ingenuity and creativity.
    • Demonstrated ability to work in team or individual environments.
    • Demonstrated ability to give technical presentations and provide written reports and documentation.
    • Must be able to obtain and hold a U.S. Top Secret security clearance

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Experience working with, developing and/or testing lasers and lidar, imaging optical systems, pointing mechanisms and controls, and electrical subsystems
    • Experience with opto-mechanical assembly and alignment
    • Experience working in a R&D setting
    • Experience with optical bonding and optical alignment
    • Experience with fiber optics including handling, cleaving, splicing, and polishing
    • Experience in installing, deploying, and testing EO systems
    • Experience working test coordination as part of a larger group with disparate priorities
