    Summary / Role Purpose

    Join the Ansys Customer Excellence team to partner with our customers to engineer what's ahead, solve their real-world engineering problems, deploy Ansys software and solutions in their design workflows, and grow Ansys’ business. As a recognized industry / technology expert within Ansys and outside, you will use advanced-level engineering knowledge to provide technical pre-sales support, perform professional services, and help guide Ansys product roadmap based on customer requirements. You will consult with customers on simulation-based solutions in support of their key business initiatives, architect pervasive insight solutions, lead project teams, and mentor other engineers.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Initiate, lead, coordinate, and execute all technical activities throughout the sales opportunity lifecycle such as technical discovery, negotiate technical success criteria, product presentations, demonstrations, and evaluations. Work independently within multi-disciplinary teams
    • Establish as a trusted advisor to multiple customers; understand their key business initiatives, product design needs and engineering design workflows; analyze how to address customers’ requirements using Ansys products and platform, articulate Ansys’ value proposition to Executive level audiences
    • Architect differentiating holistic system-level and/or platform-based solutions and workflows by leveraging technologies and disciplines such as tool integration, model-based systems engineering, design exploration and optimization and digital mission engineering. Where applicable, appropriately bring in other Ansys software simulation solutions, processes, and methodologies to provide added value to the customer.
    • Spearhead, organize and mentor multiple Ansys Customer Excellence teams and customers to integrate their multi-fidelity analytical models and/or tools in system-level and platform-based solutions
    • Operate as part of a dynamic team of engineers, software developers and business professionals to assist customers in performing analyses, solving problems, and integrating and deploying custom solutions
    • Become a recognized industry / technology expert within and outside of Ansys.  Help guide complex sales engagements to successful outcomes using subject matter expertise and industry knowledge
    • Mentor engineers
    • Participate in corporate initiatives to further enhance Ansys technology, processes, and people skills
    • Support Ansys field and digital marketing, author and present conference presentations, publish innovative technical whitepapers, drive academic/industrial partnerships
    • Contribute to consulting services, conduct advanced training classes

    Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

    • Required education and degree type: BS or MS or PhD in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or related field
    • Required minimum years of professional experience in an engineering software environment: BS+12, MS+10, or PhD+7
    • Demonstrated use of relevant Ansys software or knowledge of other commercial process integration, optimization, systems engineering, mission engineering, PLM, PDM, SPDM, and CAD software packages
    • Subject matter expert in one or more relevant disciplines within Ansys’ business and is/will be sought out for advice by other Ansys engineers
    • Track record of delivering exceptional customer outcomes and revenue impact
    • Experience with planning and executing corporate-level initiatives
    • Strong leadership and mentoring skills
    • Logical problem-solving, strong interpersonal and communication skills, fluent in writing and speaking English
    • Ability to organize and manage multiple projects which are complex in nature, coordinate colleagues across geographically diverse locations
    • Projects a professional image and demonstrates business acumen, driven to succeed
    • Ability to travel domestically up to 25% of time

    Preferred Qualifications and Skills

    • Preferred education and years of professional experience in an engineering software environment: BS+16, MS+14, or PhD+11
    • 6 years of experience in application engineering, customer support, or consulting services type customer facing roles using engineering software
    • Ability to interact effectively with senior business managers and C-level executives
    • Ability to travel domestically up to 50% of time
