R&D Verification Engineer

role works closely with other members of the product creation team and communicates with technical specialists on product issues. This role requires an individual with an interest in exploring, investigating and critical thinking.

  Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct software testing of ANSYS applications like Ansys Discovery, Ansys Workbench.
• Setup and perform CFD simulations, FEA simulations to test accuracy, robustness and performance of new simulation capabilities being added to Ansys Discovery.
• Research literature for reference solutions.
• Write and maintain automated testing scripts, monitor regression testing results, investigate failing tests, file defects, and assist the development team for further investigations.
• Specify and write test cases; create, modify, and update existing test cases.
• Work closely with other members of the product creation team and coordinate with other teams to address cross-team dependencies.
• Participate in collaborative testing efforts and provide feedback on various other features being added to the software.
• Present work progress to team members effectively and regularly.

  Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

• BS in Mechanical Engineering
• Programming experience in Python, C#, C++ or Visual Studio
• Work experience or academic coursework must include experience with Fluid dynamics, Structural Mechanics and Numerical Methods

  Preferred Qualifications and Skills

•    MS in Mechanical Engineering
•    Experience with CFD and FEA tools in industrial or academic projects, and familiarity with the associated engineering principles, preferably Ansys Fluent, Ansys Mechanical and/or Ansys MAPDL

•    Experience in a large-scale commercial software testing and verification environment
•    Ability to learn quickly and to collaborate with others in a geographically distributed team
•    A thorough and careful approach to work with close attention to detail and quality
•    Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills

•    Genuine passion for testing and quality assurance

•    Excellent written and oral communication skills
•    Thrives in a fast paced and dynamic team
