Description
The Academic Research Engagements Project Manager is responsible for the management and execution of projects related to external research collaborations and funding to universities, as well as supporting related programs such as research publications and research workshops. They will be responsible for driving value from engagements and socializing results to relevant groups internally, and will act as a point of contact for both internal and external partners. This role requires the ability to build strong relationships, coordinate across cross-functional partners, and deliver multiple projects in parallel with varying scopes and timelines. We are looking for a creative problem solver who can strategize and implement solutions in an ever-changing environment. To be successful, this role will focus on eliminating barriers to the team's success, clearly presenting work, progress, and priorities to all partners, and ensuring the big picture stays in focus while digging into the details on specific issues. - Manage multiple engagement pathways for Apple researchers to collaborate with leading academic researchers in the artificial intelligence and machine learning space, including sponsored research, grant funding, joint publications, and more. - Support execution of AIML research workshops throughout the year as a member of on site event staff. - Support key elements of the research publications process, including collaboration software management and GitHub repositories. - Collaborate cross functionally with internal and external partners to drive the full cycle of research engagements, including scoping, review and approval processes, as well as agreement drafting and negotiation of collaboration and funding agreements. - Collaborate with cross-functional internal partners to ensure the Apple and AIML brands are represented to Apple standards. - Gather project status, metrics, and key results to communicate to leadership on a regular basis, monitor and evaluate outcomes for continuous improvement, and ensure a mutually beneficial collaboration and strong relationship. - Exhibit outstanding communication skills (written and verbal) and stakeholder management with both internal and external stakeholders. - Use strong organizational skills to manage competing priorities across various projects and engagements, ensuring all deadlines and objectives are met.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $112,900 and $188,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
