Description
As an intern in EMIR / Power-Integrity, you will learn about existing analyses and simulation flows. You will closely work with world-class experts in analog and digital circuit design and circuit verification to understand the key aspects of EMIR analysis.
Your job will be to explore methods to augment and enhance the existing flow to include power integrity and electro-magnetic cross-coupling aspects. To achieve this you are expected to use analytical methods, as well as exploring AI techniques.
We will provide training and development opportunities to become familiar with the EMIR flow and the physical design flow we are using in Apple, with flexibilities in how broad and deep you can contribute to help Apple engineering. You will integrate and build new ideas, share insights and collaborate with a team of hardworking engineers.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in analog circuit simulations (Spectre, HSPICE, HFSS)
Good understanding of EMIR analysis fundamentals and electro-migration theory
Good understanding of electro magnetic cross coupling
Good understanding of device physics
Experienced in programming, particularly Python3 and common libraries such as NumPy, SciPy, pandas
Hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks
Strong written and verbal communication in German
Minimum Qualifications
Currently pursuing a BS, or MS in Electrical Engineering, Device Physics, Computer Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a related field.
At the end of the internship, you must return to school to continue your education or the internship must be the last requirement for you to graduate.
Proficient in basic electrical engineering and basic device physics
Experience in analog circuit design principles and transistor level analysis
Proficient in Linux
Strong problem solving and interpersonal skills
Strong written and verbal communication in English
Available for 6 months or more
