Description
Our RF Hardware Design Engineer is an integral member of the Hardware Engineering team designing future wireless products. They will work on a small design team focused on the integration of multiple wireless technologies in to a new Apple product. For a full product cycle, our experienced DRI (directly responsible individual) is expected to own their technology from concept through product introduction and also drive bring up, development and characterization of system features like digital pre-distortion, VSWR sensing etc. This includes front-end architecture, and component specification. Build and design RF line-up spreadsheets and modeling. Perform characterization, design optimization and failure analysis. They will work proactively with other cross-functional engineering groups such as antenna design, product design, production test, regulatory, reliability, and software engineering. The role will required international travel to support product development as needed (15%)
Minimum Qualifications
B.S. in Electrical Engineering with RF focus and 3+ years of indistry experience
Good understanding of RF Fundamentals, Radio architectures, RF component and circuit integration in to consumer products
Experience in one or more connectivity wireless system like WiFi, Bluetooth, UWB or NFC
Experience with at least one RF simulation tool such as HFSS, ADS, Matlab or SystemVue
Must be an excellent communicator, both written and oral
Preferred Qualifications
Master's or PhD is preferred
Experience in designing PAs or LNAs either discrete or integrated in different process technologies.
Experience in using measurement equipments like vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, WiFi/BT signaling testers etc.
Experience leading projects from definition stage to mass production
Experience in architectural discussion with cross-functional leaders related to power supply and digital design for connectivity solutions
Experience with RF components and circuits design and integration into consumer products
Successful track record of delivering highly innovative, and high quality communications products

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
