Description

• Leadership and management of a team of talented system software engineers in a fast-paced and demanding software development environment - Ownership of silicon platform and products throughout the lifecycle from pre-silicon to mass production - Working closely with the hardware and silicon teams to bring-up new silicon, platforms, products, and prototype systems - Defining the system software roadmap to support a range of hardware platforms, including iPhone, iPad, Macs, AppleWatch, and AppleTV. - Strong communication skills to communicate status and progress clearly to upper management and cross-functional partners - Lead the team's assistance in requirements for future hardware and custom silicon - Strengthening the team by hiring and retaining top engineering talent

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience managing a low - level system software development team. Strong technical leadership and ability to inspire team members

• Direct experience in boot loader development, device driver development, kernel, and firmware software technologies.

• Understanding of SoC level design

• Strong communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Genuine passion for system engineering, hardware/software integration, and obsession over delightful customer experience with products

• Excellent collaborative skills including written and verbal communication

• Knowledge of embedded hardware and SoC architecture

• Solid understanding of operating system fundamentals

• Experience with ARM based SoC's

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $219,300 and $329,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
