    Position summary

    nderstanding how customers will use our products. In this role, you will involve in daily work of product development in our factory and create program/scripts to automate the manual processes to improve the work efficiency and data accuracy. You will witness new Apple products being developed and how our data improve the product reliability. Your work will directly ensure Apple's wearables meet the highest standards of performance and customer satisfaction under all conditions.

    Description

    This position is located in China (Shanghai/Suzhou region) and you will be in-charge of driving reliability testing activities at our Contract manufacturer (CM) factories with focus on SiP and PCBA. You'll collaborate with engineering, design, manufacturing, and quality teams to integrate reliability principles throughout the product lifecycle. You will develop and implement creative reliability tests on new hardware programs, support failure analysis and advise the team on the best path forward. In addition, you will be responsible for: • Researching new technologies to understand unique failure mechanisms. • Developing new reliability tests procedures and specifications. • Applying industry standards like JEDEC/ ASTM/ IEEE to real world problems. • Preparing concise and detailed test plans, analyzing test reports and presenting results to drive program level decisions.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • BS engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering or other relevant engineering disciplines.

    • 3 years of experience in a related field or industry.

    • Proficient in statistical software (e.g., Reliasoft, JMP, Minitab) with experience in scripting languages like Python or MATLAB to automate data workflows and enhance accuracy in reliability analysis.

    • Experience in driving Reliability test activities on IC packages/ PCBAs /electronics assemblies including Mechanical (Drop, Bend etc.) and Environmental testing.

    • Understanding of Design of Experiments (DOE), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Accelerated testing concepts.

    • Excellent written, visual, and verbal communication skills.

    • Strong attention to detail and curiosity of how technologies work.

    • Domestic travel is required.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Familiar with Failure analysis techniques (LIT, X-ray/CT, SEM/EDS, etc.), and the ability to use these FA methodologies to derive a root cause of failure.

    • Consumer electronics experience is a plus.

    • Self-motivated, capable of working independently and taking initiative.

    • Problem-solving attitude and curiosity about how technologies work.

    • Willing to travel internationally to engage with global teams and suppliers.
