Modem Systems Engineer - 5G/6G

ireless communication algorithms. - Conducting innovative design for advanced demodulation and channel coding methods with focus intellectual property development. - Implement system models and perform detailed performance investigations to allow performance sign-off and enable RTL development. - Designing baseband algorithms for cellular modems, with emphasis on channel coding, including emerging trends in machine learning and advanced demodulation and channel coding methods. - Collaborate with hardware digital designers and firmware developers to realize algorithms with power and area-efficient implementation. - Conducting simulations in C/C++/MATLAB and optimizing algorithms for mobile devices. - Supporting commercialization and collaborating with other SW/HW engineers.

Minimum Qualifications

• BS and 3+ years of relevant experience is required.

• Worked as part of SoC or modem team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (linear algebra, random processes, detection and estimation, and coding theory).

• Strong background in wireless communications research preferably with information-theoretic background and coding theory.

• Deep-knowledge of communication system theory, estimation theory, forward-error correction (FEC), machine learning models for communications.

• Knowledge of cellular communication standards: 5G-NR, 4G-LTE.

• Experience with Matlab/C, design flow, algorithm development, link-level simulation (floating-point and fixed-point.

• Ph.D. in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science plus 5 years of experience is preferred.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
