    Description

    As an Operating System Engineer in Apple Vision Pro Group at Apple, you will engage in designing, prototyping and developing real time software stack. In this role, you will contribute to the following: -Define, design and develop operating system powering Apple's AR/VR technology -Work cross-functionally with multiple teams at Apple, drive requirements and deliver the end solution -Understand the end customer use-cases, design and develop software solutions to ensure its tailored to enable the required experiences -Develop early prototyping software solutions in simulation/emulation environment -Deliver shipping quality software solutions -Analyze and optimize the code to ensure its efficient with respect to power and performance -Debug hard to reproduce issues

    Minimum Qualifications

    • BS in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or equivalent experience/skills

    • 7+ years of career experience

    • Hands on experience developing Operating Systems

    • Comfortable working close to hardware

    • In-depth knowledge of C/C++

    • Experience with user-space frameworks, daemons, inter-process communication, etc

    • Understanding of kernel concepts such as virtual memory, scheduler, etc

    • Experience developing and debugging kernel / user-space drivers

    • Ability to work under tight schedule and deliver on time

    • Excellent analytical, programming and debugging skills

    • Thrive in a collaborative environment and can clearly communicate while confidently driving multiple projects across many teams

    • Laser-focused on the smallest details that are meaningful to our customers

    • Strong communication and collaboration skills

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Familiarity of Apple Operating Systems i.e. iOS, visionOS, macOS, etc

    • Understanding of swift programming languages

    • Experience developing secure software

    • Obsessively passionate and inquisitive, and seek to solve everyday problems in innovative ways

    • Be a force-multiplier, by enabling team-members to be more productive

    Pay & Benefits

    At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $166,600 and $296,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
