Job Description

Software Engineer would join a team developing software and systems that manage, deliver and integrate Apple product documentation and assistance on iOS and Mac OS X. You would take a lead role in defining, architecting, and developing cutting edge web apps for delivering user assistance to Apple customers. Work in a startup-like environment as part of a small, fun, focused team of uber-geeks. We are using agile methodologies (SCRUM) with spikes, daily stand-ups, code reviews, and story-driven specs. The team supports the department that produces onscreen and printed product documentation for all Apple software and hardware in all languages.

Responsibilities

As a software engineer, you will have responsibilities spanning all phases of web app development and design: Participate in software requirements gathering and analysis Assist with work effort estimation Assist in user experience planning using Apple Human Interface Guidelines Develop software using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS Create and execute unit tests

Qualifications

Key Qualifications

  • Experience developing browser-based applications using OO JavaScript
  • Experience with jQuery or Prototype. Experience with MVC frameworks such as Ember, Angular, Backbone
  • Experience developing web apps with responsive/adaptive design and progressive enhancement
  • Experience with testing for WebKit/Safari (desktop and mobile)
  • Experience developing client-side software for RESTful APIs
  • Experience with analytics solutions integration (Omniture, Google Analytics, WebTrends)
  • Experience developing for accessibility (Section 508, W3C WAI Guidelines)
  • Ability to both code to spec and work as an architect to define and design the system
  • Experience with test-driven development (TDD) approach.
  • Highly professional, with the ability to deliver high quality work on tight schedules
  • Experience with Apple hardware and software
  • Excellent collaborative skills
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication
  • Ability to identify gaps or inefficiencies in processes or workflow and suggest improvements
  • Experience working in both traditional/waterfall and agile software development environments
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time

Education

BS in CS&E or equivalent experience
