    Position summary

    nd services. You will be responsible for architecting, developing, and on-boarding other engineers to maintain system software that powers next generation of data centers. As a member of the team, you will participate in all stages of software development, from new feature design and implementation, to maintenance and bug fixing of released code. You will build models for data center power and thermal systems that can inform critical architectural decisions. You will also use those models to ensure system functionality, verify requirements, understand failure modes, and ensure operation within defined limits.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Formal training in systems engineering

    Experience with distributed systems including leader election

    Data center power systems development experience

    Control systems development including transfer function development experience

    Experience working with factory processes and system bring-up

    Experience in calculating total cost of ownership (TCO)

    Strong understanding of infrastructure and platform system reliability calculations and fault domains

    Experience with hardware resource planning

    Experience with hardware deployment models

    Experience with Apple development tools

    Experience presenting architectural concepts and designs to executives

    Passion for software architecture, APIs and high performance extensible software.

    Passion for hardware and maximizing it's efficiency, performance, and overall utility through thoughtful software architecture

    Minimum Qualifications

    7+ years of industry experience as a system software developer

    Experience with tools used in systems dynamics or systems engineering fields such as JMP, Matlab, Simulink, Cameo, or equivalent

    Expertise in C, C++, Objective-C, or Swift

    Strong understanding of OS architecture and systems programming fundamentals

    Proficient at debugging complex interdisciplinary systems

    Experience with requirements engineering

    Excellent communication skills

    Creative, collaborative, and product-focused

    B.S. or M.S. in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or equivalent experience

    Pay & Benefits

    At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $171,600 and $302,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
