    Background:

    Aptiv is currently undergoing a strategic divestiture of its Engineered Distribution Systems (EDS) business unit. As part of this transition, we are seeking a dynamic Category Manager to be located in Troy, Michigan, USA to establish and lead the IT and Services procurement function for the newly independent EDS organization. This is a unique opportunity to build an IT and Services category management function from the ground up during a critical business transformation. The successful candidate will initially focus on ensuring business continuity through the transition period, during which IT services will be partially delivered under a Transitional Services Agreement (TSA). Beyond the transition, you will be responsible for right-sizing IT procurement to meet EDS's future requirements and establishing independent service capabilities.

    Your Role:

    • Develop and execute comprehensive category strategies for IT and Professional Services Procurement, with a focus on IT at the onset

    • Category Management: Develop and execute category strategies for 1) Software, Hardware, Telecommunications, Network services, Cloud platforms and Enterprise Architecture Solutions and 2) Human Resources, Marketing, Quality & Legal services, Consulting, Financial Services

    • Strategic Sourcing - Lead strategic sourcing initiatives for complex projects with significant organizational impact. MSAs, licensing agreements, and service-level agreements (SLAs) for large-scale/strategic suppliers

    • Market Intelligence: Monitor Supplier trends, supplier landscape shifts, emerging providers, and pricing benchmarks to inform strategy.

    • Cost Optimization & Value Creation: Identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve service levels, and enable innovation across technology categories.

    • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Technology, Legal, HR, Marketing, and Finance teams to support sourcing activities that align with technical roadmaps and strategic initiatives.

    • Risk Management: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, security standards, and operational resilience principles throughout sourcing engagements.

    • Supplier Performance Management: Implement and manage supplier governance programs, QBRs, and continuous improvement initiatives.

    • Implement innovative procurement approaches that leverage emerging technologies and methodologies

    • Data & Reporting: Track savings, total cost of ownership (TCO), vendor consolidation efforts, and strategic sourcing KPIs for reporting to leadership.

    Your Background:

    • 8+ years of procurement experience with at least 5 years specializing in a combination of IT and/or Professional Services category management

    • Prior experience leading Global teams

    • Demonstrated expertise in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management

    • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, software licensing models, cloud services, and emerging technologies

    • Experience managing enterprise-wide technology agreements and complex vendor relationships

    • Understanding of IT & Professional Services engagement models, rate structures, and delivery methodologies

    • Track record of successfully managing consulting firms, system integrators, and other IT & professional service providers

    • Experience with statement of work (SOW) development, negotiation, and management

    • Knowledge of resource augmentation models and contingent workforce management

    • Proven track record of delivering measurable cost savings and value improvements

    • Advanced analytical skills and proficiency with procurement systems and data analysis tools

    • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities

    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Information Technology, or related field; MBA or Master's degree preferred

    • Professional certification preferred (CPSM, CSCP, CIPP, or similar)

    • Must be legally able to work in the U.S. without any type of visa sponsorship/transfer at any time (now or in the future).

    • Must be a local resident of the Metro Detroit area with ability to work on campus.
