    In this role, you will

    • Drive systems design thinking across Atlassian Administration, iterating on our conceptual model to simplify complex workflows and improve the consistency, scalability, and personality of UX/UI patterns.

    • Maintain a high visual design bar by crafting cohesive, visually engaging designs that balance function with form, using grids, layouts, and advanced compositions to create delightful user experiences.

    • Lead cross-functional collaboration with product managers, engineers, and designers to identify and solve customer pain points, aligning user needs with business priorities across Atlassian.

    • Coach and mentor junior and mid-level designers, offering actionable feedback and fostering growth in their craft and confidence in their contributions.

    • Translate product strategies into narratives with actionable goals, clearly communicating design intentions and ensuring alignment with team OKRs, customer outcomes, and broader organizational objectives.

    • Advocate inclusivity in all design work, championing standards and best practices across the organization.

    • Balance leadership and hands-on execution by driving your own strategic initiatives while ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality designs through other team members.

    • Use design research and data insights to inform and validate your work, setting up iterative testing processes to continuously refine and improve designs.

    To be successful in this role you will need to have some of the following;

    • 12+ years of product design experience, with a focus on complex systems, enterprise SaaS, or scalable design solutions.

    • Deep expertise in systems design thinking, with a proven track record of creating and extending scalable design, models, patterns, and frameworks across organizational boundaries.

    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking skills; using research, data insights, and design thinking to drive user-centered outcomes.

    • Exceptional skill in employing storytelling and design to bring clarity to complex and abstract topics when communicating with stakeholders.

    • Strong knowledge of visual design principles, including grids, layout, typography, and composition, and the ability to create cohesive, visually engaging designs.

    • Experience collaborating with engineering teams to align design with architecture, informing technical decisions that enhance the user experience.

    • Proficiency in design tools like Figma and prototyping software, with the ability to co-design and iterate with cross-functional teams.

    • Excellent facilitation, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders across product, engineering, and design.

    • A track record of coaching and mentoring designers to raise craft quality and foster a growth mindset.

    • Familiarity with design systems, experience contributing to their evolution and scaling within a complex organization.

    • Bonus: Large Scale Enterprise SaaS companies with relevant Administration Experience.
