    1. Lead Strategic Initiatives: This role is both hands-on and strategic. You will lead the project team to strategize and execute multiple key data initiatives.

    2. Technical Leadership: Cultivate and maintain a comprehensive understanding of data and analytics technologies. Engage with the data engineering team to understand data availability and limitations and optimize processes that support the reporting and analytics needs in Finance. Guide the team in selecting the right technical solution for different projects.

    3. Metrics and Insights: Create metrics, establish benchmarks, track performance, build forecasting models, and generate insights to senior executives, with more focus on topline metrics.

    4. Data Visualization and Storytelling: Build and maintain high-quality and reliable dashboards; and communicate insights broadly, including to company leadership teams.

    5. Cross-Functional Engagement: Plan and executive key initiatives in collaboration with both technical and non-technical teams, including with FP&A, Accounting, Procurement, Data Engineering, Sales Operations, and Corporate Engineering.

    6. Uphold Atlassian Values: Embody and promote Atlassian's values in all interactions and initiatives, fostering a positive and inclusive team culture.

    On your first day, we'll expect you to have:

    • 10+ years of experience in complex data analytics or relevant experience using data to drive insights at industry-leading or fast-growing companies

    • Proficiency in SQL and another data manipulation language (e.g. Python, R)

    • Expertise in telling stories with data and fluency in building at least one data visualization tool (e.g. Tableau, Looker)

    • Understand the fundamentals of data models and performing ETL

    • Experience driving proven impact on business strategy and performance through your analytics skills

    • Familiarity with financial metrics, especially topline metrics

    • Ability to adapt quickly and effectively to changing environments and initiatives

    • An excellent communicator and team player to collaborate with global and cross-functional teams

    It's preferred, but not required that you have:

    • A degree in Business, Statistics, Finance, Engineering, or a related analytical field

    • Experience using Databricks, Python, and dbt

    • Expertise in applying statistical concepts to business problems and a strong sense of selecting the right quantitive approach to solve the problem at hand

    • Technology or Software / SaaS industry experience

    • Experience managing high performing data analytics teams

    Compensation

    At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:

    Zone A: $173,600 - $231,500

    Zone B: $156,200 - $208,300

    Zone C: $144,100 - $192,100

    This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
