Position Overview

Do you want to help creative professionals in film and games achieve their artistic vision? Our Experience Design (XD) Team is part of Autodesk’s Entertainment and Media Solutions (EMS) group.  This group creates award-winning desktop and cloud software for the media & entertainment industries. 

At Autodesk, our designers are innovative futurists, creative thinkers, team players, and experienced, agile partners all rolled into one. They are an overall product design experts with a deep web, desktop, mobile and TVOS expertise.

You will report to the Director of Experience Design for Media & Entertainment. This role is hybrid/remote and can be based in any city in New Zealand or Australia. Our offices are in Auckland, New Zealand.

Responsibilities

  • Design elegant user-centric experiences that delight users

  • Define the user experience, interactions, and user interface through user flows, information architecture, sketches and wireframes, and visual design

  • Build functional prototypes to validate your designs

  • Help maintain visual and brand consistency across all products.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate our goals into unique product experiences

  • Create deliverables for the groups you support. For example, competitive evaluations, low-fidelity wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, prototypes, journey maps, storyboards, design vision, and so on

  • Help define the vision and execution of solving user problems through the user experience

  • Lead iteration of design work within the validation track for your groups

  • Contribute to the Design Systems, help determine whether components are single-use or multi-use, and provide recommendations to designers regarding new component requests

  • Participate in Design Reviews and model best practices for giving and receiving feedback

Minimum Qualifications

  • You will convey design ideas by sketches, storyboards, high-fidelity mockups, prototypes, or animations

  • You are a Figma Expert

  • You are a full-stack designer; you work from concept to final pixel

  • You are an experienced storyteller and conceptor with experience working in a diverse environment to develop concepts that delight customers

  • You have not just product design skills but the ability to implement strategic and conceptual thinking, as well

  • Your work shows high-quality design work that also tells a story that you are a deep design thinker

  • Visualize and prototype intended solutions at multiple levels of fidelity, from high-level wireframes or mock-ups to conceptual presentations to technical documents and diagrams

  • Present designs to multiple audiences, including software development, quality assurance, learning content development, marketing, and leadership

  • Data-driven design experience with a focus on solving customer challenges
