Your Impact

As a senior frontend engineer on the team, you will be responsible for planning, designing, building and implementing user interface features that will shape our products. These products offer law enforcement administrators and crime analysts flexible access to key crime data, decision support, state and federal crime reports, and criminal investigation insights. You know what it takes to build both intuitively usable and highly performant frontend experiences for customers.

Your primary goal is to provide a delightful user experience with no issues, errors, or downtime. Our frontend engineers strive for a high degree of user satisfaction.

Axon has lead the global effort to protect life through electric weapons, body cameras, real-time sensors, public safety software products and AI tools. Axon is uniquely positioned to tie together every aspect of an incident in order to help law enforcement agencies better prepare for what might happen, respond efficiently and effectively, deliver justice, ensure the well being of their officers, and increase the safety of their communities. Working together with our customers and product teams, you will build the foundation for Axon’s outcome-oriented data efforts.

What You’ll Do

Location: Seattle, Scottsdale or Remote US
Reports to: Software Engineering Manager

• Impact the development and design of the world’s largest digital evidence management system.
• Lead projects, gather requirements and design solutions in an ambiguous environment.
• Help modernize our react/redux codebase by planning team projects and establishing metrics.
• Identify and address design flaws that impact scalability for multiple apps or services.
• Coordinate across teams in building software that meets web accessibility standards and which works across language and culture.
• Work cross-functionally to guide team members to build experiences out of digital data.
• Build the tools that help detectives, patrol officers, crime lab assistants, and more solve major crimes.
• Aid team members with design and code reviews.

What You Bring

• 5+ years of relevant experience in related field
• Highly technical with experience in frontend design and demonstrated ability to make tough technical decisions based on requirements, constraints, and trade-offs
• Strong skills in modern Javascript frameworks and understanding of the ins and outs of browser capabilities
• Track record of successful delivery of complex cloud-based, data-intensive systems and/or web/mobile applications
• Experience with frontend languages such as Javascript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS
• Experience with frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue.js or similar
