Job Description:
This role sits in the global markets Legal team and the person will provide primary legal support globally for financial market utilities ("FMUs") which are critical market infrastructures such as payment systems, settlement systems, custodians, clearinghouses and agent banks. Responsibilities will include:
Provide regulatory advice in respects of regulations and rules applicable to Bank of America with respect to being a member of financial market utilities.
Work with external counsel to obtain rulebook review of FMUs globally.
Create and drive a global Legal framework for managing risk to FMUs which will require understanding of risks associated with being a member of a FMU.
Provide counsel to Compliance, Risk and other internal stakeholders in addressing issues and risks arising out of FMU relationships.
Provide counsel and represent the Bank on regulatory exams related to FMUs.
REQUIRED Skills:
Attorney must be licensed to practice in appropriate jurisdiction.
Should have minimum 7 years experience in financial services with preferably with experience in payment systems, settlement systems or clearinghouses. Experience in other markets areas will also be considered.
DESIRED Skills:
Candidate should be a self-starter, quick learner and must be able to work independently and proactively.
Candidate should be someone who can handle multiple complex assignments and navigate a large institution.
Candidate must possess superior communication skills and must be able to work with others within the legal department and business, as well as the larger corporate structure.
