Job Description:
The Business Strategy and Initiatives Manager acts as an objective advisor to Enterprise, LOB and/or ECF Compliance leaders. Functions that are managed may include: financial oversight & integration, compliance process oversight, staffing process execution, service quality, process improvement, business continuity, SPOC control, workplace management and communication. The Business Strategy and Initiatives Manager drives execution of key strategic initiatives. This role leads reporting and analytical efforts and leads the design, development, execution and continuous improvement of reporting and dashboards The Business Strategy and Initiatives Manager executes business/strategic planning process within Enterprise, LOB or ECF Compliance functions. This role may contribute as a manager responsible for providing leadership direction to attract, assess, develop, motivate and retain a small team, or may act as an individual contributor.
The Business Strategy and Initiative Manager, informally known as the Chief Operating Officer, acts as an objective advisor to the Global Compliance and Operational Risk Policy & Business Controls executive and drives a comprehensive plan to execute on key strategic initiatives across the organization. The Business Strategy and Initiative Manager will also provide support to the Global Compliance and Operational Risk executive through coordinating organization-wide events and communications. Functions of this role may include: financial oversight, process oversight, staffing process execution and oversight, business continuity, workplace management, coordination and facilitation of leadership team meetings and the writing, development and execution of an integrated communication plan in support of organization-wide priorities and strategy and will include speechwriting and other content development, program management and project management.
◾Support the Global Compliance and Operational Risk Policy and Business Controls executive in driving organization-wide strategy and progress towards priorities with emphasis on streamlining and driving consistency in business operations
◾Centrally coordinate across Chief Operating Officers to cascade guidance and strategy
◾Coordinate various Senior Management routines including agenda and material preparation, meeting facilitation and follow ups
◾Work directly with GCOR Executive, GCOR Senior Leadership Team, HR and other business partners to develop and execute communications strategy and tactics that support overall plan/program and enterprise goals
◾Support major communications initiatives from concept to execution. Responsibilities may include key message development, writing and designing materials, efficient utilization of employee communications channels, and coordination of reviews, approvals and distribution of materials
◾Lead a work stream of the Global Compliance and Operational Risk Employee, Engagement, Development and Inclusion Council
Required Skills or Experience:
◾Proven ability to understand and articulate complex subjects to sophisticated audiences, and simplify material as necessary for broader audiences to maintain a focus on and passion for improving the employee/manager experience
◾Strong writing, editing and project management skills
◾Ability to think/act both strategically and tactically
◾Motivated self-starter who is able to proactively offer ideas and strategies and make decisions, not just execute on what is asked
◾Ability to navigate and exert influence in a highly-matrixed environment and connect the dots
◾Must be a dedicated team player comfortable working in a large, complex organization
