Job Description:

OVERVIEW

The Consultant Application Programmer, Internal Audit will be responsible for ETL (Extract, transform and Load) efforts by implementing continuous testing, blend data from multiple sources, transform as per business requirement and load them to appropriate systems to support audit work. In addition, is responsible for monitoring scheduled jobs and ensure the implemented codes and supporting platforms are up and running.

 
The incumbent will also be part of audit’s technology road map efforts.  The objective of the project is to assess the current technology landscape for Corporate Audit and Credit Review (CACR) and design required frameworks to accomplish a more integrated technology environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop, test, debug, migrate, document and help operationalize ETL codes by leveraging industry best practices and ensure adherence to internally defined SDLC practices.
• Writing scripts and programs on a daily basis to solve problems.
• Work closely and collaborate with internal team members and some stakeholders outside of the core team in implementing solutions.
• Develop codes across various platforms like informatica power center, Informatica data quality tools and Alteryx.
• Create data profiles, write scripts, and develop workflows to support the data quality program.
• Will be creating indexes, data models etc and other features of ETL tools that help structure the data based on the business needs.
• Develop Linux/Unix, Power shell scripts to support automation.
• Work on Hadoop (Hive), SQL server and oracle platforms on a regular basis.
• Write code for enhancing existing programs or developing new programs.
• Review code developed by other Developers.
• Provide input and drive programming standards.
• Write detailed technical specifications for subsystems. Identify integration points.
• Do production support and report on code errors, missing elements found in system and functional requirements and explain impacts to team members.
• Occasionally supports transition of application throughout the product development life cycle (version upgrade and platform migrations)

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s Degree or completion of an equivalent training programs in software.
• 5+ years of software development in .Net, Java or Python Programming.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in using data integration/ETL tools like Informatica (Version 10 or greater) and Alteryx.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in using power shell scripting.
• Should have Knowledge of setting up, configuring, and maintaining ETL processes from Linux.
• 5+ years of experience with Linux/power shell scripting is required.
• 4+ years of experience working with relational data sources (i.e., SQL Server, Teradata, Oracle), Big Data sources (i.e., Hive, Hadoop), and unstructured data sources .Should have Hands on experience in Big data and Hadoop technologies
• At least 3-5 years relevant experience with data analytics, with demonstrated experience and proficiency in the use of data analytics tools.
• Well-versed in writing queries in an efficient and optimized manner
• Excellent command over developing, maintaining and scheduling ETL jobs
• Knowledge of importing data from external sources in an efficient manner (use of multiple connection types)
• Candidate must possess Data Extraction and Analytics skills across multiple database platforms.
• Experience writing SQL queries required
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Strong communication, analytical and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive in nature, assertive, inquisitive, analytical, has excellent attention to details.
• Ability to develop a data-driven approach during audits.
• Strong technical and analytical abilities, including a detailed understanding of application data quality controls, technical environments and project management.
• Any other equivalent combination of training and experience. 

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Master’s Degree

• 2+ years of project management and worked closely with product owners and scrum masters

• Familiarity with all informatica suite of tools, Python, PowerShell and Unix Scripting language is strongly preferred Business Acumen: Possess high level of professional business acumen.

• Knowledge: Excellent knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards and Internal Auditing Standards. Sound knowledge of government financial regulations, accounting principles and procedures. Knowledge of Management Information Systems, terminology, concepts, and practices.

• Work Ethic:  Ability to consistently deliver work outcomes that reflect critical thinking, sound judgment, attention to quality and accuracy of information, timeliness of outputs, and integrity in decision-making. Possess high level of courtesy and attention to detail in giving and receiving information. Handle confidential and sensitive matters that may impact on the overall success of the Institute.
