This Data Support Senior Analyst position is on the Data Process & Operations team (Data Ops) team within the Global Financial Control (GFC) - Finance Data Management (FDM) organization. Data Ops is an expanding global team supporting multiple GFC reporting platforms.  Though team responsibilities include production data control processes, this is well balanced with projects to expand and improve processes through automation with an emphasis towards driving data quality.  These processes can commonly cross platforms, business products and data sources.   The team is largely attributed across functional areas including data controls and monitoring, issues management, GL reconciliations and a wide variety of research. 

This position will support data control monitoring, research & analysis and project based activities across one or more functional areas.  This incumbent will partner closely with global FDM teammates, technology, reporting teams and upstream data providers. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate to deepen existing and/or grow across multiple product/service areas, as well as balance technology, business and project skills in a data management environment.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize business, product and technical skills to design and implement data quality controls and process improvements leveraging emerging technology tools
• Partner with FDM teammates and reporting SMEs to evaluate automation opportunities
• Partner with upstream data source SMEs to perform data issue root cause analysis and create high level remediation options
• Share business and technical knowledge with peers in support of team chemistry and growth
• Represent Data Ops and provide subject matter expertise to broader work efforts internal and external to FDM
• Research data observations or issues concurrent with and post production cycle including impact assessment
• Support analysis, design, and testing of technical changes outside of production cycle
• Support reference data maintenance, data validations, control monitoring, recurring trend analysis and/or ad hoc analysis

Required Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree or 4-year equivalent (Accounting, Finance, Information Systems Management & Technology, Computer Science etc.)
• 5+ years in Financial Services industry with experience with database structures, data warehousing and data controls
• 3+ years of advanced SQL experience and understanding of relational databases
• Proven ability to build broad-based business relationships across the enterprise. Positively and skillfully influences peers, colleagues, leaders and business partners to collaborate and deliver consistent quality results.
• Strong organizational ability and extremely detail oriented
• Excellent written and oral communication skills at all levels (i.e. colleagues to senior management) and situations (i.e. one-on-one to presentations)
• Advanced Microsoft Office suite software skills (Excel, Access, Word, SharePoint, One Note, Project)
• Exposure to automation or business intelligence tools (e.g. Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI, etc.)

Desired Skills & Experience:

• Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, Alteryx, Teradata, DB2, Netezza, Hadoop, SAP eLedger, Rally, Visio, ETL tools and Data Management tools
• Knowledge of  Global Technology, Enterprise Data Management & Enterprise Data Architecture programs, strategies and standards
• Finance/Regulatory Reporting knowledge
• Banking product knowledge, especially within Bank of America
