Night Shift
Perform routine and non-routine adjustments and repairs to production equipment within the cell. Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment and machinery malfunctions and make major and minor repairs as required. Determine the need for additional support from the Senior Maintenance Mechanic and/or the Electronic Technician. Perform preventative maintenance on all production machinery within the cell on a scheduled frequency to assure optimum equipment efficiency with minimum downtime. Monitor equipment within the cell to identify machinery components which are nearing failure and schedule repairs to be made. Comply with all local, state, federal, and BD safety regulations, policies, and procedures. Comply with all local BD quality policies, procedures, and practices through consistent application of sound quality assurance principles.

Duties and Responsibilities
Examine inoperative or malfunctioning production equipment and machinery in assigned areas and diagnose source of trouble (mechanical or electrical).
Dismantle machinery and perform routine and non-routine repairs. Replace broken or defective parts reassemble machines and adjust equipment for optimal performance.
Coordinate the manufacture of replacement items with the Machine Shop.
Correct minor electrical problems as needed to facilitate a repair.
May be required to make simple replacement parts for emergency repair of inoperative production equipment to avoid costly downtime.
Perform preventative maintenance task as needed to maintain production equipment. Complete all required maintenance records for each machine.
Responsible for all production product lines and provide back-up support on an “as needed” basis.
Mentoring the junior maintenance personnel and support the production team as required.
Must be able to work alone or in a group environment on repairs as needed.
Reassemble machines and fine tune and adjust equipment under both static and dynamic conditions.
Oil, lubricate, and maintain production equipment to support of the Preventative Maintenance Program. Adhere to the established Preventative Maintenance schedules and remain in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures. Keep required maintenance records.
As required, perform functional operating adjustments on equipment when requested by Machine Operators or Production Supervisors to obtain quality production.
Participate in training and cross-training efforts of the mechanics and operators.
Assist the machine operators with set-up and changeovers to ensure minimum downtime.
Participate in plant safety programs and ensure equipment within the cell is operating in a safe manner. Understand and use the lockout/tag out system.
Know and understand scrap, up-time, and volume.
Operate equipment to meet production needs of team.
Comply with all local, state, federal, and BD safety regulations, policies, and procedures including RCRA Hazardous Waste regulations.
Comply with all local BD quality policies, procedures, and practices through consistent application of sound quality assurance principles.

Qualifications
(1-4) years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
Knowledge of repairing industrial equipment, machinery, and high speed assembly equipment is required.
Must have a working knowledge of electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
Understanding of both metric and American measuring systems.
Must be able to read, write and communicate in English and be competent in basic mathematics
DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
3 axis alignments.
Motor replacements.
Maintain validated state of station.
Changing all hydraulic components as appropriate.
Trouble shoot and repair basic electrical malfunctions in all sensor types used in production.

The incumbent may be frequently required to stand and/or occasionally sit for extended periods of time. Bending, stooping and reaching are also frequently required. While performing this job, the employee is regularly exposed to episodes of walking, kneeling, balancing, crouching, pushing/pulling, repetitive grasping, hearing, twisting, lifting, frequent use of hand to finger, handle, feel, pick or type which can include repetitive motion of the wrists, hands or fingers.
The incumbent will occasionally be required to climb.
The incumbent will occasionally be required to lift to 20 lbs., frequently lift up to 10 lbs., occasionally pulling/pushing up to 30 lbs., frequently pushing/pulling up to 10 lbs., frequently carry up to 5 lbs.
The position will almost always have exposure to work near moving mechanical equipment, and potential temperature fluctuations.
Occasionally the position will have exposure to fumes, airborne particles, hazardous chemicals, cleaning compounds and solvents.
The incumbent may be exposed to noise levels in the work environment moderate to loud.
Employees must have normal field of vision corrected to 20/40 in each eye and must have hearing sufficient to safely operate material handling equipment in a manufacturing/distribution environment.
The incumbent must be willing and able to wear required PPE such as, safety glasses, face mask and/or shield, hearing protection, safety shoes, hair and beard net and smock.
The incumbent will be expected to continue their learning through Amatrol to increase their skillset and capability.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum Education:
High School Diploma/GED or 1 year consecutive work experience.
A.S./A.A. degree or equivalent experience preferred. Minimum.
Experience:
Two or more years of experience in repairing industrial equipment and machinery or packaging machinery.
Must show a working knowledge of electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems as applicable.
Must be able to work with blueprints, or verbal instructions.
