As a Senior Mechanical Engineer in our Medication Management Solutions (MMS) team, you will utilize your extensive knowledge and experience in Mechanical Engineering to solve both novel and complex assignments that require the development of new or improved products, techniques and procedures.
Essential Job Functions:
Provide technical expertise on multiple projects simultaneously.
Applies engineering principles and techniques to develop engineering solutions using a variety of engineering tools.
Performs CAD modeling of electromechanical assemblies to support the release of new designs and creates improvements to existing designs.
Assess the feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering tasks, build a resource plan for completion of these tasks, and track progress.
Derive Verification and Validation plans for qualification of Class I medical devices.
Drive technical efforts to develop design changes to existing In-Market hardware for all Pyxis products.
Spearhead failure investigations with a cross-functional team for returned hardware, in field failures and CAPAs.
Receives minimal supervision and guidance related to overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters.
Education & Experience
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree and experience.
At least 4 years related experience, or the equivalent combination of graduate-level education and experience required.
Experience with mechanical CAD tools, SolidWorks, FEA, material selection, sheet metal design and fabrication, plastic injection molded part design tooling and qualification; tolerance analysis, GD&T.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Microsoft office products, SAP, Vizio, Adobe, DocuSign, MiniTab, Solidworks, TeamCenter.
Demonstrate ability to successfully influence people and teams at all levels without direct authority.
Ability to apply sophisticated mathematical concepts to such tasks as statics, kinetics, strength of materials reliability testing, analysis of variance, correlation studies and sampling theory, statistical analysis.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
Ability to troubleshoot issues and determine root cause.
Ability to generate presentations and technical articles for limited publication.
Ability to present technical information and to effectively present proposals.
