    Brand Manager, RTD/Strategic Ventures - East Region  

    The following position is open in New York, United States.

     

    What makes this a great opportunity?

    This position will lead the development and support the execution of the regional marketing strategy on the large and exciting Ready-to-Drink (RTD) and Strategic Ventures product portfolio delivering against market plans, KPIs, brand health, and volume/sales/profit growth objectives each year for the U.S. East Region. Candidates may work from New York City, Louisville, KY or Miami, FL. 

    Role Responsibilities

    • Ownership of key regional projects, with the autonomy to drive decisions
    • Opportunity to provide regional category expertise and provide input into the national brand strategy
    • Lead brand-building efforts in the region for our RTD/Strategic Ventures product portfolio such as On the Rocks (OTR), -196, Twisted Tea, and Truly Vodka, creating the regional plan and strategy to drive strong consumer connections
    • Serve as critical in-market liaison to facilitate communication, planning, and execution between the National Marketing team and the Central region team
    • Deliver market-relevant insights to further drive the portfolio
    • Strategic Planning:
      • Lead strategic and regional brand planning, including regional situation assessments
      • Detailed budget management and forecasting, working closely with finance partners to actively and accurately monitor ROI and spend
    • Partner with Sales Team including RTD Business Development Manager to ensure we are building appropriate commercial strategies that align with brand objectives. Priority Brand/Market Program Development & Activation:
      • Partner with Field Marketing Team in the market to implement on and off-premise plans in addition to non-premise and eCommerce programs
      • Develop local programs for priority brand and market combinations with high-profile market-specific initiatives that are material investments, effectively targeting consumers and engaging key stakeholders (i.e. retailer, bartender, distributor) in the market while ensuring programs are aligned to national brand strategy
      • Agency Management for Regional Programming
      • Best Practice sharing with other Regions
      • Collaborate with Multicultural Marketing to develop and drive culturally relevant programming
    • Project Management:
      • Lead market communication plans to include: working with Field Marketing Managers on program development and execution for priority brand and market combinations, and ensuring all marketing touchpoints (advertising, media, PR, experiential events, sampling, etc.) are in alignment with national brand strategies and tailored to the region
      • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities, develop recommendations, and execute region-specific marketing plans
    • Brand Stewardship:
      • Provide in-market brand expertise to the regional sales and brand marketing teams
      • Provide brand investment allocation guidance to the markets
      • Provide regional insights, analytics, and strategic guidance and expertise to global brand teams
      • Facilitate the exchange of information (competitive, inventory, product quality, etc.)
      • Build relationships with cross-functional partners, including Marketing, Commercial Planning, Sales, and Distributors
    • Business Analytics:
      • Analyze key business metrics (depletions, distribution, velocity, Nielsen, pricing, profit, etc.) leveraging existing tools (e.g., reports, BAR dashboards, etc) and make recommendations for action
      • Analyze and make recommendations on competitive activities including product, pricing, promotion (consumer and trade), and distribution.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • MBA preferred
    • 4-6+ years of consumer marketing experience in a premium, luxury goods or services
    • Previous beer or ready-to-drink experience preferred
    • Prior experience repositioning brands locally
    • Prior experience working in or with commercial sales or field marketing
    • Prior experience with the beverage alcohol industry and/or three-tiered distribution system (soft drinks, beer, and other wholesale-distributed products)
    • Prior experience in multicultural marketing

    Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

    • Proven ability to execute brand/marketing projects that align with overall Brand strategy
    • Self-starter with an ability to deal with ambiguity in a new strategic role within the organization
    • Possess interpersonal skills and have demonstrated experience in working across and up, within the organization, gaining credibility amongst peers, managers, and other commercial leadership
    • Proven ability to execute flawlessly on brand/marketing projects that align with overall Brand strategy
    • Proven ability to analyze and diagnose brand and market performance
    • Possess concise and effective verbal and written communication skills, especially for meetings and presentations
    • Ability and has demonstrated ability to be a brand evangelist to local teams
    • Proficient knowledge of MS Office

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to sit for a prolonged periods (s) of time and view a computer screen
    • Ability to travel 25% of the time

    Equipment/Software Used

    • Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

    Salary Range

    The salary range for this role is a base salary of $105,000 - $121,000 along with an annual bonus, 401K match, profit sharing, and medical and wellness benefits. Salary range is commensurate with candidate’s location, experience and skillset.
