    State Manager II - CT

    Role Responsibilities

    Business Planning

    • Own monthly, quarterly, and annual forecast and delivery.​
    • Manage effective use of all entity grants, discount allowances, and brand investment spends.​
    • Leverage data to identify business opportunities and issues, generate alternatives, and decisively select appropriate solutions for State.​
    • Manage significant amounts of data and multiple stakeholder relationships, while remaining focused on the opportunities that are most critical to driving results.

    Market Execution

    • Lead end-to-end commercial business including Sales, Pricing, Programming, Local Marketing, Activation, and Budgeting.​
    • Drive monthly, quarterly, and annual results while developing a longer-term strategic focus.​
    • Accountable for delivering sustainable Annual Plan performance through Net Sales Value, Gross Profit, and Gross Margin.​
    • Determine how to tailor approaches to best meet state regulations and needs while also considering the national brand and organizational needs.​

    Stakeholder Management

    • Oversee cross-functional execution of programming and promotions to achieve the company’s strategic objectives across the US and in the local market.​
    • Serve as the lead conduit between corporate stakeholders and in-market execution teams for Connecticut.
    • Cultivate, develop, and manage best-in-class distributor relationships for the Connecticut Team.​

    Distributor Management

    • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual review meetings with distributor management to identify areas of opportunity, address business concerns, and review key programs.​
    • Manage and hold key stakeholders accountable (internal & external) for KPI attainment.​

    People Management 

    • Manage a team that takes on a high volume of work; establish clear priorities to help the team manage through complexity and ambiguity. ​
    • Able to effectively manage, inspire, and continually develop direct and indirect reports.​
    • Foster a culture that prioritizes diversity, equity, and inclusion and embeds it into the team's DNA.​
    • Attract and retain top talent in the industry with a heightened focus on building a more diverse workforce that is truly representative of the population.​

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience.
    • 5-7 years of Experience in the alcoholic Beverage industry preferred
    • Stakeholder management experience with the ability to influence and effect change​
    • Demonstrated experience and success in off and off-premise sales.
    • Several years of experience in the alcoholic beverage industry (Supplier or Distributor) preferred.
    • Comprehensive understanding of budget management including P&L responsibility.
    • State Manager experience managing multiple markets and channels with a territory(s) with a significant budget.
    • Experience successfully managing a team preferred.
    • Exceptional skills in Microsoft Office Programs (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Exceptional leadership skills.
    • Strong analytic capabilities.
    • Licensed driver of motor vehicles

    Physical Demands

    While performing the essential functions of this job, daily physical activities may include, but aren’t limited to:

    • Lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 45 lbs.
    • Sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, stopping, and typing using a computer.
