    Responsible for managing and developing the Territory of West Missouri which includes working closely with both a semi-dedicated distributor sales team in Large Format Liquor and Food & Drug stores, as well as working with the rest of the distributor at large covering all other On & Off Premise accounts throughout your part of the state, plus National Account and Corporate Sponsorship integration.   

    Role Responsibilities

    • Embody a team culture of inclusion, diversity of thought, and accountability.
    • Communicate effectively and build continuous consensus with all stakeholders in our value chain, including Distributor Sales division, BSI Field Marketing, BSI Finance, BSI NAHQ, BSI On-Prem, and BSI Brand teams.
    • Ensure End to End Execution of our Commercial Responsibility (NSV/DGP) by working with the appropriate internal BSI personnel, as well as external wholesaler workforce amongst many levels of employ, to develop new sales and profit opportunities and/or sustain current strategies across our entire portfolio that meet or exceed our monthly, quarterly, mid-year, and annual goals in the dedicated area of West Missouri: Kansas City Region, Mid-Missouri South region, including Springfield and Branson.
    • Actively assert Commercial Acumen by managing the presentation of, and monitoring the progress toward, all pertinent category and brand plan targets, while always ensuring compliance with BSI Commercial and Marketing standards.
    • Inspire and Enable the Customer and Consumer by leading the cost-effective selection and acquisition of Point of Sale (POS) materials, be an executional champion for “in-market” implementation and placement of POS, and replenish and refresh POS in alignment with our National and local marketing promotions and standards.  Also manage and incorporate promotional teams to administer samplings/tastings as budgeted, as well as manage and incorporate third party graphic installs.
    • Become our Competitive Advantage by crafting Integrated Partnerships with our top On-premise & Off-premise accounts with the sole responsibility for Building our Iconic Brands, Accelerating our Super-premiums, Seeding our Future Growth prospects, and Winning with Power Brands to drive volume, profit, and KPIs (distributions, shelf sets, displays, and menus) across all sizes and types offered in the marketplace. 
    • Successfully leverage Demand Creation to launch all new products, both Innovation and line extensions, but also exude Demand Creation at mass appeal social events (e.g. hosting Happy Hours, delivering seminars, conducting staff trainings, etc.) in the On-premise and Off-premise to deliver our Big Bets.  Capture your execution of all these in a monthly recap format to highlight the successes.
    • Can anticipate developments in the territory and is able to derive and define comprehensive priorities within a dynamic environment.  Also, able to envision potential risks or delays in defined plans and can make contingency plans to mitigate envisioned risks.
    • Be an active participant with distributor staff to stay in tune with applicable street level brand trends, ours and competitors, via a target of four monthly, full day work-withs, when permissible, as well as conduct Quarterly Blitzes to cover all the territory geography.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on contacts made, new placements secured, follow-up points, and further action needed at each key account, as well as GoSpotCheck missions when necessary. 
    • Work with integrity; keep abreast of all laws, regulations and policies that govern the market; and ensure all efforts and sales involvement are in compliance with state and federal laws.
    • Manage all sales expenses to stay at or under budgets assigned, as well as properly manage all company assets as provided, including but not limited to: storage unit, sample product, raffle items, etc.
    • Address all shortfalls when they occur with corrective actions plans and keep your direct manager aware of any potential or realized infractions pertaining to your area of responsibility.
    • Manage all key partnerships with a key understanding of sports sponsorships, including but not limited to the Kansas City Chiefs and TICO Productions.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
    • Five years consumer products sales experience minimum
    • Impeccable communication skills are necessary: face-to-face as well as through technology
    • Charismatic public speaking and passionate presentation skills are a MUST to both small and large groups
    • Proven history of successful team management is beneficial
    • Availability for additional events/functions on evenings and weekends on top of normal workload
    • Thorough knowledge of distribution, promotion, and selling techniques, alongside strong analytical capabilities is strongly recommended
    • Applicable experience selling localized promotions and National marketing programs is an asset
    • Both Off-premise and On-premise spirits industry experience highly preferred
    • Familiarity with the Missouri Franchise market, and the Kansas City marketplace specifically, is a plus
    • MS Office Suite competency
    • Licensed driver of motor vehicle, and reliable transportation required, for up to 33% Travel (including air).

    Physical Demands

    While performing the essential functions of this job, daily physical activities may include, but aren’t limited to:

    • Lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling of up to 45 lbs.
    • Sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, stopping, and typing using a computer.
