The Global Consultant Relations (GCR) team is part of BlackRock’s Institutional Client Business.  GCR is a sales and relationship management function responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with the global, regional and local investment consultants who advise our institutional clients.  Our GCR team includes colleagues based across multiple locations in the US / Canada, across Europe, and in Asia Pacific.

Role Description

GCR is seeking a motivated professional to join our team. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Asia ex-Japan Consultant Relations and be responsible for maintaining a regular dialogue on BlackRock’s investment strategies with consulting firms based across Asia.  This individual will serve as a resource to consultants on markets, product / platform development and client trends, and will respond to incoming requests and opportunities in a timely manner.  The individual will plan, coordinate and participate in meetings with consultant field & research teams, and work with BlackRock’s investment teams to develop and execute marketing plans to consultants for relevant products.  Other responsibilities include working with client account managers to develop relationships with field consultants and drive new business, and overseeing BlackRock’s participation in RFPs and databases.

Skills & Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of relevant experience such as investment consulting, portfolio management/research or institutional relationship management

  • BA/BS degree in related field; CFA and CAIA a plus

  • Strong capital markets expertise and interest

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Bilingual preferred: (Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean a plus)

  • Sales-oriented approach to daily responsibilities

  • Organized and detail-oriented with strong project and time management skills

  • Proactive team player; ability to prioritize and work with professionals at all levels

  • High level of self-motivation, with strong integrity & ethics

  • Demonstrated analytical ability

  • Relevant regulatory licenses (https://i.e. SFC) are required, as this is a client facing role
