777X Propulsion leadership is seeking a Senior Manager to lead the 777X Engines & Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) team in Everett, WA, which is a diverse engineering organization to support 777X certification, service ready, production, Change Incorporation & Refurb (CI&R) and Entry Into Service (EIS) activities.
The successful candidate will have strong engineering expertise, possess outstanding communication skills and demonstrated ability to lead teams across organizations. As 777X Engines & APU senior manager, the role will have engineering responsibility for the 777X main engines and APU.
Externally, this role leads relationship building with the engine partner and key suppliers on flight test, certification and service ready issues, including the 777-8F development. Additionally, this role will be responsible for team development, recruiting and retention with financial and head count management.
This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite.
Responsibilities & Desired Skills include:
Provide technical management of partners and suppliers and leads certification and service ready activities
Manages staffing plans; hiring and developing the team
Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
Risk, Issue, and Opportunity (RIO) management
Implementing Program Management Best Practices to manage performance to plan (e.g., budget, staffing, schedule, quality, etc.)
Shared responsibility to ensure supply chain, fabrication and Change Incorporation and Refurb (CI&R) execution
Drive accountability to appropriate stakeholders or roadblocks to enable SOW accomplishment
Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, and partners
Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives
Proven ability to lead with the Boeing Values
Proven ability in team building, coaching, and employee development
Excellent oral & written communication
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience):
Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering discipline
5+ years of experience managing or leading people or teams
5+ years of experience with risk, issue and opportunity management principles and tools, and the ability to apply them in various situations
Full product life cycle experience
Experience managing relationships with customers, suppliers and engine company partners
