The Electromagnetic Effects team of Boeing Research and Technology (BR&T) in Tukwila, WA researches and develops technology in Electromagnetic Effects analysis, design, and test methods for application across the Boeing enterprise. Areas of focus include electromagnetic compatibility, electromagnetic interference, lightning direct and indirect effects, static charge and dissipation, materials characterization to electrical effects, and computational electromagnetic model development to support these research areas. Research supports the development of technology for all Boeing business units and programs including Boeing Commercial Aircraft and Boeing Defense, Space and Security Systems.
This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Position Responsibilities:
The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
• E3 (Electromagnetic Environmental Effects)
• Lightning direct effects testing
• Development of computational electromagnetic modeling (CEM) methods
• Use of CEM methods
• Defining EME requirements and research projects
• Scripted (Matlab, MathCAD, Python, or Perl) and compiled (C, C++, or JAVA) languages
• Linear algebra
• Software development processes
Typical Education/Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Relocation: This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
