Boeing Laser and Electro-Optical Systems (LEOS) is seeking skilled and adaptable Entry Level Real-Time Embedded Software Engineer to perform design, analysis and test of software solutions. Engineer would work as part of a multi-disciplinary team supporting the development of both directed energy and electro-optical systems. This is a level 2 position and is located in Albuquerque, NM.
- Assists with the documentation and maintenance of architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems
- Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system
- Assists with test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met
- Gathers information to support software project management
- Documents deployed processes and tools and collect metrics
- Supports software research and development projects
- Troubleshoots basic software issues. Works under close supervision.
This position requires the ability to obtain U.S. Security Clearances, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. _Top Secret Clearance Post-Star_t is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):
Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, computer science or other related technical field
Must possess experience with developing software in C or C++
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
U.S. Security Clearance
Knowledge of Electro-Optical systems
Experience with embedded software utilizing VxWorks or similar OS
Experience with software design

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at Albuquerque, NM. site.
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
