The Boeing Company is currently seeking a F/A-18 Real Time Senior Software Engineer – Electronic Warfare (Level 4) to join the F/A-18 Electronic Warfare software team located in Berkeley, MO. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.
This role will involve development of real time embedded software, analyzing and debugging software issues, and working in an Agile, collaborative environment. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to play a key role in developing and maintaining software to support the F/A-18 program’s electronic warfare efforts for EA-18G and F/A-18. These include jamming, pod management, countermeasures, and other aspects of electronic warfare.
Position Responsibilities:
Leads activities to develop, document and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems
Leads development of code and integration of complex software components into a fully functional software system
Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met
Provides technical leadership for software projects and leads software supplier management activities
Leads development, selection, tailoring and deployment of processes, tools and metrics
Plans, executes and documents software research and development projects
Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations
Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards
Works under minimal direction
This Hybrid position allows some telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. (St. Louis, MO)
Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:
This position requires the ability to obtain a SECRET US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. Ability to obtain SECRET US Security clearance (Post-Start).
Required Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
Ability to obtain SECRET US Security clearance (Post-Start)
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or other technical degree
Experience leading a project or technical team
Professional experience with C, C++, C#, Python, Java, or Ada
Experience with requirements, design, development, and test of software systems products
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience developing mission systems software on aircraft platforms
Experience developing software using Git
Experience working on an Agile team using Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira
Active Secret U.S. Security Clearance
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience)
In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
Travel:
Occasional travel may be required but would be less than 10%.
