Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking a First-Line Decorative Paint Flight Operations Manager (Level K) to support Decorative Paint functions in Everett, Washington.

The ideal candidate selected for this position would support the following programs: 737, 747, 767, 777, and 787. The First-Line Decorative Paint Flight Operations manager is in charge of staffing, assigning tasks, and checking finished products and services. This role also develops and implements quality improvement plans. This person conducts, or has influence upon the people, budget, and business-related processes for the work group.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Everett

Position Responsibilities:

• Responsible for advising work group activities such as cleaning, surface preparation, application of primers, coating systems, appliqués, finishes, and decorative coatings on air vehicles.
• Work with other managers to deploy employees per program requirements.
• Responsible for work group performance against program commitments.
• Communicates with engineering, management, suppliers, and customers to meet product requirements and ensure customer acceptance.
• Develops and carries out project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operation goals.
• Acquires resources for projects, processes and leads process improvements.
• Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
• Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes.
• Manages, develops and motivates employees.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Capable of working variable shifts; including days, evenings, nights and weekends.
• 3+ years of experience in leadership (i.e. temporary / acting manager, team lead, or completion of a leadership development program etc.).
• 3+ years of experience working in a cross-functional environment and/or business unit teams.
• 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• 7+ years of experience in leadership (team lead, project lead, manager, etc.).
• 1+ years of experience with Aircraft flight-line work experience.
• 3+ years of experience working in a paint manufacturing environment (aircraft, automotive, parts, etc .).
• Demonstrated experience in lean manufacturing techniques (Six Sigma, TPS, BPS, 8 step problem solving, standardized work, yamazumi, kamishibai, PDCA, etc.).
• Shown problem solving abilities.
