Due to business growth we have multiple opportunities for an experienced Industrial Engineers (Continuous Improvement Engineers) to join our Port Melbourne team.

Working alongside diverse and experienced engineers as part of the Melbourne Engineering team, you will support a range of stakeholders from design and leadership, through to shop floor across multiple programs.

About the role

As an Industrial Engineer you will work to design and improve the manufacturing and production processes using Lean manufacturing and other improvement concepts.

 Key responsibilities include:

• Production line balancing / optimization and rate readiness
• Lead continuous improvement and Lean activities to improve flow, cost and increase rate
• Perform job observations to define time/ labour standards and identify waste
• Perform cost benefit analysis
• Lead Continuous improvement workshops and perform problem solving (AIWs / 3P)
• Develop factory visual management systems
• Progress the One Boeing Production System maturity
• Perform Equipment & process capacity studies
• Design flow-oriented factory layouts
• Ensure compliance to process requirements and procedures
• Identify and manage operational risks and opportunities
• Production scheduling and recovery planning

About you

• Safety, quality and people focused
• Positive relationship building and stakeholder leadership skills
• Excellent communicator
• Experience working in a manufacturing support engineering role
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing and production improvement processes
• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical engineering or equivalent

Classification: This position is classified as Engineer/Scientist 2A.  The successful candidate will be required to complete a 3-month probationary period.
