Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a Lead DevSecOps Software Engineer for their Satellite Division located in Kent, WA.
This exciting software engineer position will work on existing and emerging programs. A successful candidate is passionate about space and excited to work in a multi-disciplined, collaborative engineering environment to design, develop and implement control and communications software for a new fleet of Boeing satellites.
Develop and Enhance our DevOps operations
Lead the design and implementation of the DevOps tool chain
Collaborate on idea creation and development of the DevOps tool chain
Support the ongoing lifecycle maintenance of the DevOps tool chain
Support the software quality efforts of our Boeing product deliveries to our customers
Works under minimal direction
Technology areas these positions will be focused on are:
Agile product development
Continuous integration, testing, and delivery
DevSecOps processes and tools
Automated system testing, integration, and deployment
Work closely with developers, testers, and system engineers from multiple product teams
Research and suggest new tools/products to the team
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret clearance Post Start is required.
Required Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering and / or computer science
Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++
5+ years' experience in software development, systems engineering, or integration and test experience
Experience with the Linux OS
Proficient in common DevSecOps technologies: version control, container management, performance monitoring, deployment, CI/CD, Test Automation.
Experience on Automation and CI/CD techniques and design patterns
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Strong Working knowledge of the CI/CD process including debugging, test, and integration of software tools.
Strong communication skills and a self-starter that can thrive in a distributed remote work environment
Understanding of secure software development methodologies and Security First mindset
Understanding of designing and implementing full stack/Microservice infrastructure
Experience designing, configuring, and managing a DevSecOps toolchain/workflow (Version Control, Container Management, Performance Monitoring, Deployment & Server Monitoring, Configuration Management, CI/CD, Test Automation, Artifact Management, etc.)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience) In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
