Primary Job Responsibilities
The Manufacturing Technology Integration (MTI) Manager is to lead Materials, Process & Physics (MP&P) engineers at Boeing Research & Technology (BR&T) in China. This manager will work closely with supply chain teams and external partners with broad responsibilities and coverage.
Manage test and audit programs to qualify suppliers to applicable requirements. Integrate new technologies as appropriate. Apply knowledge of Boeing parts, materials, and processes to assess, resolve and optimize product and process issues throughout the Boeing product lifecycle.
Lead to develop, qualify and certify new materials, parts, and processes to meet requirements. Support to define engineering requirements to develop, select, or recommend parts, materials, processes, manufacturing technology, tools and automation used in the manufacture of products.
Lead the failure analysis of materials, parts and processes and implement corrective and preventative actions.
Lead to design, develop, test and qualify manufacturing technology, machines and devices, tools, automation, robots, electrical parts and materials, electronic assemblies, computer and production systems to satisfy user requirements.
Recruit and retain technical talents with customized development plan and viable career paths.
Continuously improve BR&T China development process for efficiency, effectiveness and robustness. Maintain procedures and documentation related to the process.
Be fully accountable for program execution by meeting the project Quality, Cost, Delivery targets. Identify and mitigate technical and program risks with proactive approaches.
Inspire and challenge the MTI team for its best performance with stretched resources. Engage/partner collaboratively and effectively with cross functional teams.
Ensure robust resource planning in terms of BR&T China project needs/priority vs team capability/capacity. Estimate the engineering efforts accurately and come up with the project & release skeleton level execution plan.
Continuously identify the gaps in capability and process and develop/upgrade them accordingly. Cultivate a continuous learning and development team culture.

Candidate must be eligible to be stationed in Shanghai or Beijing and work in China.
Travel up to 30% will be required to fulfill this work statement.
3+ years manufacturing related experience in Aviation industry.
3+ years engineering management in a cross functional organizational environment.
Strong partner/supplier/external vendor management experience
Remote team management with multiple sites on both technical and professional aspects.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal both in English and in Mandarin). Effectively communicate with all levels of people, up, down, peer, inside and outside of his/her team or organization.
Driven and high self-motivated to pursue new opportunities with minimal guidance.
Strong sense of urgency on critical tasks/programs, be able to work under pressures.
Strong growth mindset, have the passion to grow both team size and team competency in a matrix, global environment.
Strategic thinking with good judgement for setting up the program priorities and resources.
Strong experience on program initiation and execution process with previous successful cases.
Nice to have
Bachelor Degree or higher in engineering or science. Manufacturing, material Processing, mechanical engineering or chemical engineering is a plus.
Good understanding on composite manufacturing, raw metal material process, manufacturing process, etc
Knowledgeable on project management. Formal training in Project Management principles (e.g. PMBOK) is a plus.
Experience working collaboratively with international groups at the Multinational Corporations (MNC).
Proven ability to figure out technical road map even with ambiguous and complex situation.
Demonstrates ability to manage stakeholder’s expectations especially executive levels.
